My Shammies are lvl 61 right now, and I have problems doing the "overlord" quest ( http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?source=live;wquest=10400 ). I "almost" defeat Arazzius every time. It works "ok" until he summons those stupid earth elementals, and then everything goes down pretty fast.
Any ideas how I should do this quest?

Keep groundings down for his pyroblasts, drop stoneclaws for his "stupid earth elementals", and don't stop the DPS. I did him with about 200 spell damage for each shaman and just blew him to bits.

If I remember this right, I just interrupted all his casts with a castsequence earthshock rotation, and kept nuking as said above. I was actually amazed at how easy it was. Must have been 61 at the time. No summons as far as i could see. I'm pretty sure I just interrupted those casts.

I actually wiped 4 times at level 60 against him with 5x shamans, and gave it one last go before giving up and killed him on the 5th try. This was with using both blood fury (+125 dmg orc racial at level 60) and elemental mastery.
Unless the ally quest is different from the horde quest, he doesn't summon earth elementals he summons infernals (much worse).
Anyway, on the fifth try I killed him right as he summoned the infernals, then they killed one of my guys before despawning. He didn't really use much magic against me, just physical attacks which could 2-3 shot my guys. Basically spread my guys out a bit, tried to force aggro to stay on my main using frost shock, and timed one heal between each lightning bolt, which seemed to work pretty good. Not much to say other than that, DPS as fast as you can (start with ele mastery LB + CL, then spam LBs and lesser healing waves or chain heals if needed). It was the toughest thing I had to do in hellfire peninsula by far, even harder than the first two bosses of Ramps.
Also, one thing that will help immensely is to do the maghar quest (wolf spirit), then go back to thrall, then go back to maghar and do the 2 quests which net you a good caster 1H mace, combine that with the shield reward from one of the first few HFP quests and having a shield on all your shammies helps a TON against any physical attacks. I had to do that to beat the first boss in HFC.

Ok, finally managed to kill him. Basically, it's pretty easy once you actually play your class instead of hitting the dps button.
I changed some macros, so all my slave toons have a heal on my main on round robin (which helps my main keeping the aggro, since no single toon collects a big deal of heal aggro), moved my grounding totems on a new key, ensured the enemy cast bar is shown and changed my earth shock to a /stopcasting /cast earth shock macro. Made a big difference. He went down fast and without me having a problem at all. Well timed earth shocks were the key to this encounter.
I guess that's the problem with RAF. Blasting through the lower levels is fun, but you never have time to learn some finer aspects of the class. So the levels to 70 will be a big learning experience for me...

Whats the point of earth shocks when you can absorb all the casts with grounding totems? It seems like interrupts would make him melee you, which you don't want. Does he cast an AoE or something that grounding totems won't catch?

Basically, it was more easy to keep earth shocking him, then to ensure that the grounding totem was up all the time. Esp. since he sometimes casts 3 spells in succession. Right now I don't see when the all of the grounding totems are gone, maybe I need more training to watch my totem buffs (or maybe I just need another addon). But Earth shocking him worked really, really well.
Hm, maybe I should give it another try, this time using only grounding totems...
Is there a nice addon that can give me a warning if one of totems dies?

Grounding totems give your entire party a buff, so I just watch my main's buff list and can tell how many groundings I have currently.
Moreover, if you're in a heavy spell casting fight like this, just drop all 5 every 15s and don't worry about if they're up or not. That's the best you can do, and it takes a little bit of "thought" out of the process.

I just killed him 5 minutes ago with 5x61 shamans. 5xToW, 5xGrounding, 4xHealing 1xMana. Started with EM+CL, then LB+ES. He was down to 50% when he got to me. Then it's just burning him down before he kills one of the shamans. Didn't even notice any adds spawn, guess I had some lucky timed Earth shocks.
I found the fight very easy.

That's funny. For some reason my opener didn't seem to impress him much at all (EM + CL). And while I considered the fight easy once I got the hang of Earth Shocking him, it was hell before that.
I'll kill him again to see if I can handle it by using grounding totems only. Note to self: Create macro button for grounding totems only (Right now I have them castsequenced with other totems).

I had more trouble with Blackthorn or whatever the elite ravager's name was. Lost one on that one.
With Arazzius, I just went to the top of the ramp, did my spreadout macro, 5 ToW, 4 healing, 1 mana, and EM+CL opener. Right after opener I dropped 5 grounding when I saw he was casting Pyro. After that it was LB LB LB until CL was cooled down then repeat. I figured since he was elite, he would be immune to interrupts so I never ES, but when he came in range, 5 Flame Shocks finished him off. Didn't have to heal during fight, but I was below 1/2 health on all 5 by the time the infernals died.
Edit: I was 60 doing the ravager, and I believe 61 when I did Arazzius.
