View Full Version : Solution for slave turning?

Problem: I use Q and E for turning slaves (and main, unfortunately). I have the same key binds on all characters. This is fine until I press my right mouse and turn the slaves, upon which my main will start to strafe around.

Is there a way to either...
Not turn the master?
OR
Disable Strafe-When-Mouse-Looking?

You *might* be able to set up a keymap (assuming you are using Keyclone) and set Q and A to do nothing for your main, but pass strafe to the slaves.
You'd have to set up a macro for each one too I think. I just started working with keymaps last night, so I'm not the one to ask how it's done. :P

It was the Focusless, Leaderless etc etc thread. :)
Here's a link to it in the General forum. ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=11459')

What i use is:

Walk with W
Strafe left with Q
Strafe right with E
Move Backwards with S

And those keys i also have on "Do-Not-Send" list in keyclone.

And i use A and D to turn ALL my toons, works perfectly!
Its a bit strange in the beginning but easymode later :thumbup:

I pretty much just use the normal keyboard options for the main (DNP list them though) but I use Q and E to turn left and right for all my toons.

It sucks that it turns the main too (Never found away around this using leaderless setup) but you get use to it when you keyboard turn with your current main.

1. Bind turn left & turn right to some keys, you normaly don't press like: 'o' and 'p'
2. Unbind q,e
3. Have the following keybinding on your toons:
("example for turn left and 3 Toons, q the key to press, o the key bind to turn left")

ToonA:
q --> turn.left.all.but.a
o --> turn.left.all.but.b
shift+o --> turn.left.all.but.c

ToonB:
q --> turn.left.all.but.b
o --> turn.left.all.but.a
shift+o --> turn.left.all.but.c

ToonC:
q --> turn.left.all.but.c
o --> turn.left.all.but.a
shift+o --> turn.left.all.but.b

this way all but the leading toon would turn left...

All good replys, but there is something that Magwo mentioned that hasn't been answerd. When you hold down the right mousebutton and press turn with your main, he will strafe.

But I have seen in Ellays videos that he manages to turn anyway. Maybe Ellay himself can explain how he does it or if someone else knows how it's done. I really want to know =).

Thank you

Thank youI think he uses a hardware solution to do this.

I think he uses a hardware solution to do this.

If thats the case. /cry. It seems like a very helpfull thing in pvp. One solution would be to not use your mouse, but I mean comon.

Not using your mouse will get other issuies, like camera view. Ellay come here and save the day by telling us (me) that it isn't a hardware solution =).

I'm pretty sure ellay keyboard turns on his main too. I think I remember him saying he controls his main with one keyboard and his alts with a second, as far as turning goes.
And yes, I'm pretty sure he's using a hardware solution to increase performance.
