View Full Version : Advice Sought for Setup

I'm semi new to dual boxing. About a year ago I tri boxed a couple sets to the mid 40s before quitting WoW. The expansion and the RAF offer have whetted my appetite again.
In the past my combos were 2 warlocks and a priest, and a paladin, mage and hunter.
However, this is my question: For those who are just starting out and taking advantage of the RAF program, what would the best setup be in terms of choice of class for preparing oneself later on, ie after RAF, if one is interested in boosting other characters and whatnot later? I guess I'm curious what the veterans would consider to be the best classes to take advantage of the triple xp/gift levels to skyrocket them to 60/70 first? The dream team, in essence. From what I gather reading over the forums, any group that includes a paladin would be optimum but is that observation correct? I'm just wanting to get the most bang for my buck while RAF is going on.
Any input would be much appreciated and hopefully you can make some sense of my rambling. :)

If you were to ask me a month ago I would have said a Pally and 4 Shamans. With the nerf/buff/changes to how totems work I have went Pally, 3 shamans, and a moonkin. this is my personal preference I can see value in other combinations as well but this one made most sense to me. Everyone can heal and everyone will be able to out of combat rez when wrath comes out. With the nerf to stacking Crit totems the moonkin aura should help. 2 shamans will be elemental and the last resto, earth shield will be nice. I also have a priest in the dugout as needed and might level a few mages. With RAF and the recently announced 60-70 leveling ease there is no reason why you cant have several team configurations.

Thanks for the input! I really like that combo, although for me it will most likely be paly, 2x shamans and a moonkin. 4 boxing is the limit I promised my spouse. :P
I wish I had more time to devote to WoW than I do but more than likely I won't have the time needed in order to end up with several different team configurations by the time the three months is up. I'm really looking to consolidate my time and get as much gravy as I can before it's gone. Not sure if it's possible but I'm trying to lessen the likelihood of having a 'Doh!" moment when the realization hits, after the fact, that I should have had three paladins to 70 rather than three mages during RAF, or something like that.

Believe it or not many of us do not have time needed to devote to WoW I know its one of the main reason I started dual boxing years ago. I travel a lot and am sometimes only home 3 nights a week and the wife and kids get a ton of attention so MB fits my lifestyle.

You know, I guess I did assume that most multi boxers had oodles of time on their hands to devote to WoW (of which I was/am really jealous of, btw) but now that you put it that way, I guess I can see how it would be the opposite. I just can't allow myself to invest so much money into it, I do it the poor woman's way, in that I use one PC. So I guess I assumed that folks who invest the $$$ into multi boxing must also have lots of time to devote to it as well. I know I would if I could. :)
