Hello everyone,

As i am new to miltiboxing and cant get enough of it i have started to install some addons, i am especially interested in the new jamba one that is listed on the forums. my question as a "same computer boxer" is:

Do i just install the addons into the same place as if i was playing one account? i have been putting the addons in to \interface\addons is this right?
I only ask because i have been reading that people install addons on some slaves and not on the others, might this mean they have other computers?

i hope this makes sense

THanks

a

It depends on your setup :)

If you have a single installation, from which you run muiltiple accounts, then yes you just install the mods in the same place as for a single account (i.e. the mod installation itself is not account-specific).

I have two installations - "main" and "drone" - and a single interface directory. The drone's interface directory is symbolically linked (junctioned / symlinked / etc) to the main one.

That means I update / install in one location, and all get it.

When I want to disable mods for my drones, I just hit the Addons button at the character selection screen and toggle off the ones I don't want.

This gives me a single point of maintenance even though I have two installations.

I have WoW1 & WoW2 on my C drive and a normal World of Warcraft folder on my C: Program Files folder and it seems like your setup would be easier for patches, etc. The only thing is: I'd only want WoW1 & WoW2 linked cause my husband plays on my computer from the normal World of Warcraft folder & he's not an ant ddon junkie like me, so I wouldn't want to change his account settings when I changed mine.
Thanks!
