Hi =)
I was hoping that someone experienced in 2boxing a mage/pally combo could help me decide how best to go about it. I mainly want to aoe farm and tear through stuff, so I know the pally will be specced prot, and the mage (probably) frost/arcane. But what I'm wondering is: would it be easier (using Keyclone) to
1. use the pally as the main, gather mobs up, then mash AE on the mage
2. use the mage as the main, gather mobs up, nova, blizzard, etc while the pally heals & pops a consecration occasionally
3. use the pally as the main, gather mobs up, consecrate, then switch windows to the mage & let the blizzards, etc fly
Thanks in advance for any help!

1. use the pally as the main, gather mobs up, then mash AE on the mage
This is how I do it.
Round them up, consecrate to get initial aggro in the right place, pop up ice barrier, spam consecrate and arcane explosion together, everything dies :)
I have consecrate and AE on the same key, so the first consecrate is a click but after that it's just button mashing.
Having said that... I run multiple mages, and I don't think you'll be doing *alot* of tearing up with only one.

Or is it just me being OCD? And I've thought about running two mages, but I assumed having heals would be better than not having heals, since I'm only 2 boxing. I hope to eventually get into 5 boxing, but that's a ways off yet (darn RL, husband and 2 year old kid lol).

Um.. just an idea.. 3 holy priests, 2 mages, spamming AE and HN.
Or a 5 man holy/disc priest group. Named "Wands of Fury" ...
sorry, off-topic, I know, but the AE and consecrate thing just got me thinking...

Yeah, I know.. it was just something that came to my mind when reading about AoE and holy damage. I know that I once tried to AoE in the Stockades using my Karazhan equipped Priest and was murdered brutally - but with several priests and some real AoE it might work (and HN would also heal the mages ... slightly)

wasting mana by not letting consecrate tick?
I've never given it a moment's thought to be honest. It ticks away quite happily while it's on cooldown ;)
I just kind of accept that I'm going to have some downtime after every pull, which doesn't work out too bad given that I'm usually waiting for overland mobs to respawn anyway.
You've obviously made up your mind here, but if I were two boxing now with an eye on going further later on, I'd probably go with two mages for the point-blank AoE power. Healing just isn't an issue until you start hitting instances / doing Outland group quests in any case.

I did aoe grind back in the days before they nerfed aoe damage, and I did it solo & it worked out pretty well, so maybe I should consider this, darn indecisiveness!

Sorry, didn't mean to muddy the waters :)
When it's just a team of two, I'd want to maximise the DPS for quick kills more than worrying about healing.
What you're suggesting is just fine. Two of anything is pretty much just fine as well.
The one real advantage of starting off as you originally intended is that I imagine you'll be "driving" your pally tank most of the time once you have five characters, and that's something you'll already be used to.

I am also too boxing right now 2 warriors. :D No one is doing it mostly folks are about caster/aoe types of classes, But I also see why now most folks go with ranged hehe. When my 2nd warriors charges in he gets in a few swings then I have to make him turn abit to keep attacking it's like he is losing the mob after the initial assist. If you or anyone knows of a fix for that. But its just a little gimp problem I may switch to shaman and then from there get into 3boxing.

So just an update, I started the mage pally duo, and it's going ok, though it's really annoying to have to hit a key to get the mage to stop following me so I can run in and grab aggro, then hit another key to cast a spell. Sooooo much simpler if we could just /stopfollowing /cast Spellname. But I guess it's ok since I don't use tab-targetting I bound tab to move foward on my mage's account & I just tap tab about halfway to the mob, then when I hit the mob on the pally, tap 1 (which will eventually be a /castsequence macro) to fireball. Hopefully I'll be able to work this out pretty well & get them to 60 (darn RAF bonus ending at 60 sucks) pretty quickly.
