Ever since the rep nerf that now gives 250 -350 per quest (opposed to the original 72) this is now a nice grind to get the Winterspring Frostsaber Mount.

only the starting collection quest 10x meats on each character is a pain and takes about an hour to complete (but you only have to do this 6 times)
from then on its massacre central, as each turn in takes between 6-10 minutes depending on how busy the village is. 8)

total time from 0-Exalted (42,000) took me about 30 hours of playtime.

I started working on this last night :)

I started around 23:00 so i only had time for 1 meat quest, but they are all parked on frostsaber rock :)

Nice job ! :)

I was Server first with my warrior on it when it still took 800 quests, god that was a pain, but its good to hear its only 30h work these days.

Did you only do the Village quest or did ya also do the Giant killing ?

i initially did the quest on my paladin (the first on my server) took me 6 months to complete ( a couple of runs per day), went from level 58 to 64 by the time i was finished ;(

i did a mixture of both giants and the village, focusing primarily on the village, but hit the giants when the village was busy.

i thought the giants would be hard, as i remember them being a pain the first time round, but each one only took 9 seconds to kill (2-3 lb's and/or an earth shock) the extended travel time can be a pain, but it only adds another 10-12 minutes onto the lap turn in for an additional 350 xp.

remember to use your hearthstone (if not on cool-down) once you have killed the giants to port you to everlook (saves 3.5 minutes travel time once per hour).

seriously considering running it again when i get my next group to 58ish

also got a fair few blues - torch of austen, orb of deception, crossbow of heartseeking and 4 various Darkmoon cards

I used to get strange whispers from people commenting on why I wasn't in Outlands.

wow kudos, I started this quest on a few toon and so far have given up because of the abyssymal drop rate for the meat... I can only imagine trying to loot that many x5...

Those Wintersabres look fabulous. Congrats!

I completed this quest about 2.5 months ago on one of my sets of toons. I love having them when running all over Shat and the BGs.

I started doing it on another set of 5, got through the meat quests, then had an idea. Since I have a number of locks that are above level 20, I can just place a few at the giants and at Frostsabre rock. A bit of group /kicking and /inviting and I can cut down the travel time hugely since when 5-boxing, mob killing time = 5%, travel time = 95% of this grind.

But with RAF out, I won't be doing this until the 3x exp goes away.

Congratulations! I've been contimplating this recently. 30 hours of /played time is reasonable.

The ZG tiger is the one I'd really like, especially as it's the only cat mount my hordies can get. :/

you could buy 5 spectral tigers...*gasp*... OK, now that I've regained my composure from laughing so hard, have you _seen_ the prices on those mount cards? I could fund my multiboxing habit for over a year just for ONE mount. :P

Is it true that you dont need to buy epic mount riding to ride the winterspring cats? if so, will you still need to buy it when it comes to flying mounts or does getting them give you the epic riding skill?

my guess is that u still need to buy the riding skill. the wintersaber cats may only require 75.

you only need the standard 75 skill to ride them, but if you start the grind as soon as you hit 58 you wont finish until midway through 60 (and once you hit 60 you need the speed to make the runs quicker).

I seriously thought about waiting until 70 and going from standard skill straight to epic flight (as i already have the cash for my current 5 man team) but the difference between the normal mount and epics is too good to pass up when you have to do the amount of traveling across the zone that this grind entails.

to add more speed, i also got the carrot on a stick for each character before staring (hey its only 3%, but every little helps  )

I haven't bought any mount training yet. ;(

I refused to buy an elephant. GW has suited me well the past 33 levels lol.
