Hey, I'd like to introduce myself, I'm Dylan, I've been lurking the forums for a few days and have thought about multi-boxing :) it looks very impressive :P.
I have a few questions.
I'm not loaded with cash but I have a decent computer;

Manufacturer: Dragon PC Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.40GHz (2 CPUs) (I've been told this is a good processor) Memory: 2048MB RAM Hard Drive: 320 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Monitor: ViewSonic VX922 Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio output Speakers/Headphones: Altec Lansing VS2221 28W 3 Pieces Speaker System Keyboard: Genius K645 Mouse: Genius XSCROLL Mouse Surface: Wooden Desk Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition
Do I need multiple computers to multibox, or how many characters would I be able to run with just one computer?
Also, with multiboxing do people usually bother with professions and do you end up getting more gold by having 5 people instead of 1 at 60/70

Thanks,
Dylan

The system seems solid enough to dual-box or triple-box. Can't say about quad-boxing or quintuple-boxing for sure.

If you'd want to improve on anything i'd suggest 4Gb instead of 2Gb of RAM. Mind you that if you use a 32-Bit operating system (Such as Windows XP 32-Bit or Windows Vista 32-Bit) that you won't be able to use more than 3200Mb since 896Mb will be "appropriated" for use for the videocard and several other misc. items. If you have a 64-Bit operating system, you can safely run with 4Gb.

* The above is assuming your mainboard supports 4Gb to begin with. Also, try to keep the brand, speed, CAS and timings of an equal type when adding memory. Sometimes it's better to replace 2x1Gb with 2x2Gb and use the 2x1Gb in another computer or something.
