Just checking where to quest for the final 6 levels to 60 and found that there are a lot of kill quests in Silithus. Esp. the "Target: Hive'Zora Waywatchers" type of quests. Problem is: They don't list an XP value for those quests. The quest is started by a dropped item and is repeatable. But shouldn't at least the first turn-in provide me with XP as well?
And in a more general note: Has anybody here tried Silithus to level from around 55ish to 60?

I just did this. I finished the Scholo key forging and decided to grab the Crater and Silithus flightpaths at about 55.
I had a "oh well, since I'm here" moment and picked up the quests on offer in Silithus. Having quickly recovered from the shock of discovering that quite a few mobs in the zone are totally immune to nature damage, I spent all my time there from 55 to 60 and it was great.
Lots of kill quests, lots of cloth to sell and no competition for anything because nobody really has any reason to go there :)
I don't specifically remember the XP value of any of the "Target" type quests, but as I recall the quest XP itself was low enough that I didn't bother doing more than one of them.

Thanks - I remember Silithus from my 2nd wow char ever, had a fun time there, loved the original quests, liked the area pvp stuff when it was added and AQ 20/40 are still instances I really, really like. Esp. AQ20, since we wiped a lot in AQ40 and never cleared it before BC (did clear it later with our 70, though).
Regarding nature immune mobs - I normally use Frostshock and fire totems in those cases (I still have a level 14 mace ATM :)) - is there a better way of handling those?

Mêlée! Seriously!
Well, for shammies at least it really is a serious option. I wouldn't fancy my chances as, say, a mage.
I stopped wasting mana on spells that would be resisted (due to most of my kills being orange/red) a loooong time ago. I just melee everything down now. It's a piece of cake for questing / levelling where everything conveniently stands still for you ;)
I've had zero downtime since I started using that method, and just 5xshock the runners... which are most "walkers" because they invariably have the frostbrand debuff on them by the time they figure it's time to bug out.
AQ40... *shudder*... I have many memories of that damn place. Giant mind-controlled guildies coming at me with both blades flashing, hitting the wrong "mirror image"... ugh. And bugs! BUGS! Who wants to kill insects?! I want to kill dragons!
Thank God I'll never have to set foot in that place again :)

Hm.. melee.. I feared you'd say this. Guess I'll do an AV, and with some luck we'll win, so I can get the AV quest mace. Hm.. I am puzzled myself that I am still using a lvl 14 quest hammer...

all the way to 60 with no shoes on one toon and a bunch of white gear on the others as well. :) what's gear when you always have a 4-5 man team?

If you're going to melee, gear is *slightly* more important than if you're going for ranged nukage, because you're going to get smacked quite hard at times. I had to drop my tuxedos for some level 40-ish mail armour when I started to melee, but that was just a (very) few gold at the AH :)
And at level 60 I was still wearing my level 39 SM shields with (some?) pride!

I leveled some in Sith recently, it's also good to head over there for the cooking quest to get to 300, and there's some patterns and recipes there - Wizard Oil recipe is sold there, and that's mandatory for leveling enchanting, especially with Greater Eternal Essences selling for 17-20g each on my server. You can grind out some decent extra cash off the elementals in the zone, and since it's generally a wasteland, you have the place to yourself. It's da bomb for miners, you can set up a circuit of nods and just farm away.
But, I forgot how much of a grind that entire zone is, and all of the quests are part of it. Sith was implemented to give 60's something to do, if you did'nt raid, pre-BC (I remember the *old* Sith) and it's *brutal* in how low the exp gains are, for the time spent. I did better exp/hour in EPL and Winterspring, to be honest, and the gear that you get in Sith for a LOT of work, is worthless considering you'll replace most of it by 60 in Outlands.
Everyone hated Sith before BC came out. There's no reason to have any different opinion now. The whole zone needs to be revamped, but i know they'll never get around to it. They could take the AQ instances out of the game, and nobody would notice, it's that dead. The professional farmers and botters don't even bother with Sith anymore.
