Are you BOTH Two-Boxing or did I read that wrong? You're both going to group together? As for your question, I would say Fire - It's the best for maximum damage and AoE (Dragon's Breath). Ice is a possibility but there's a lot of stuff in that tree that needs manual mouse clicking like Blizzard / Pet Frost Nova and whatnot to get a lot out of it. Fire is just PEW PEW.

We each have two mages, and we are leveling / questing together. Yeah I was thinking straight up fire myself. Was wondering others opinions.

Arcane shatter would be pretty sweet with 4 mages. Just take turns with novas and AE AoE everything down while getting the shartter crits galore. For single targets, 4 AP/POM shatter frostbolts and arcane missles will drop almost anything your level.

There's no bad choice though. Do you like red, white, or blue?

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=ow0VcofZxgGzbccogot That would be my leveling build if I ever did mages.

You have 4 mages. You can't go wrong on spec. Everything should just die.

There is a lot of variety in prefered mages specs on this board, I would start with two different specs on your mages and see which one you like better.
The better spec for you is really going to depend on your particular game style.

Personally, I liked deep fire spec on both mages for leveling. You can burn mobs down extremely fast.
But that's just me.

I'd heard that four frost mages should actually be able to instance alone though, which I hadn't heard about fire.

Anyone with instance experience to agree or disagree with this? (I just mean normal levelling instances)

Fire, imo, and here's a pro tip: Don't use fireball. With 4 scorches, you will drop stuff in 2-3 casts, and if you're spec'd impact instead of imp fireball, you'll almost always get an impact prob meaning that you don't get hit.

Scorch, with all its supporting talents is a solid choice anyway, but it comes into its own when you're multiboxing it.
