So something over the weekend has taken control of my computer.

I let my grilie use the net for the day and come back to a totally fouled up computer.

Wow is getting erros and now crashing. I can't even install from disc... I have had to copy over the downloader from the MAC to the PC and start the download that way. it would not work PC side.

My question is where are all my macros located? I found the WTF files and I am hoping that is all I need.

Can anyone confirm this?

My question is where are all my macros located? I found the WTF files and I am hoping that is all I need.

The macros are all contained in the macro-cache files at both account level and character level. They all live in the WTF directory structure.

I'm guessing you know all about Virus scanners, etc, so won't go there :)

The WTF folder contains all your settings. Copy that and you should be safe. The macros are stored in two files, macros-local.txt and macros-cache.txt in the account folder, and in the characters folders in the WTF folder.

Your macro file is at: World of Warcraft/WTF/Account/URIMBAACCOUNTNAMELOLOLOLOLOL/macros-cache.txt

But i'd copy macros-local.txt aswell, even if its empty.

thank you for the quick response. I did indeed copy over the whole WTF file.

Funny thing is that when I try and play wow now it loads super slow and the graphics are messed up. The opening screen where you put your password in has a huge amount of pixelated green crap.

It's not the card, the card works fine with other games right now. It's almost like wow itselfs is all messed up.

I will have to wait for the download of WoW to finish before I remove the old wow.

Anyone got any ideas? I did just upgrade the video drivers after this occured.

I even tried the wow repair program but it said wow was screwed and i had to reinstall.

Delete your config.wtf and try again.

strange.. my Wow started crashing a few days ago as well !? The graphics would get corrupt, sometimes right on the login screen, sometimes after a few minutes playing the game. Initially I thought it was maybe a temperature problem but I check the card/cpu temps and they're all fine. With your issues I'm thinking now if it's wow itself??

Has anyone else experienced any screen corruption/freezes recently?

I've swapped the video card for another one.. we'll see if it crashes. Yeah first thing I did was to open up the case and put a big fan in front of it; was looking at the temps while playing but it still crashed even though the temp was almost same as idle.

I've tried copying another wow folder from my followers but that didn't solve the issue. I'm still thinking this is a hw problem.

Yeah, when my piece of shit Geforce 6800 GS card overheats. (6800's just run HOT!). I just took the side cover off and it solved the problem.
