For some time now I have wanted to change the way I had my computer room setup.

My idea consisted of building a small wooden frame that would sit on my desk, onto which I would hang six LCD monitors on articulated arm wall mounts and a cabnet for the computer towers:

So this is how it turned out.

nice, looks good. I just mounted my monitors, and seriously thought about taking your approach i.e. wood, screws and elbow grease. I like the way yours turned out. Bet ya saved some cash too!

What do you do to dissipate the heat created? Props on the woodwork, I respect someone who can do that ;)

Thank you, it's still winter here in Oz, so heats not a problem atm, but this room does have an airconditioner for when it get warmer, also notice that above the window and tower cabnet is a thermometer so I can monitor ambient temperature.

You my friend have all the sypmtoms of being a techno geek. The IPhone, Media Center remote, G15, N52 and 6 screens running matrix.

I fancy myself an amateur woodworker myself. We would get along splendidly with the exception of the Iphone I loathe that device ;)

HAHA, you got me! I'd just finished putting it together so all my usual junk hadnt yet made it back in yet. So yeah it was a "Get a Pic before I mess this up" moment ;)
Heres an honest shot, taken five mins ago.

Maltese are hypoallergenic. Also, they have hair like us that grows and you have to cut it. Not fur that sheds.

hehe, thats still ten times better than my messy desk next to my pc table, (pic found here of my messy desk) ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=12146')

i really do love the DIY approach you took though.. i only wish i had the tools to do woodwork. i've always enjoyed it, just too expensive to get into it. my dad paid a carpenter to build his new photo studio's cabinets and desks to custom fit, by purchasing all the power tools he would need and letting him keep them after the job was done. if i could get a gig like that i'd totally get into woodwork heh. free tools!
