New multiboxer!! Need tips on mages

So far, I have level 29 frost mages and I'm boxing 3 of them.

It's been getting very difficult to control them so does anybody have any tips they could give?

I was thinking on going pom pyro at 70. Anybody have any macros that I could use? Any addons?

Basically anything that would help a newbie out!!

"/use 13" and 14 are your trinkets, it will either use the top one, or if that is on CD it will use the bottom one. Or if they are stackable (Can't think of any off the top of my head that are) it will use both.

**Personal preferance**

I went Main as frost, for CC, and all my alts as fire. I find that I was able to CC just fine using only 1 mage and fire spec has better DPS. That said to do this you have to be realy good at dropping "follow" at the right time to position your alts.

I ran two mages under RAF, and never needed to go anything but fire due to the massive dps output. 2 sheeps and 2 Frost Nova for control, 2 Pyroblast - Fireball - Fire Blast and things generally dropped before they could reach me. For the nasty fireproof area in Dustwallow Marsh, used Frostbolt + Arcane Missiles and again they dropped just as they reached me. I'm thinking of respeccing PoM Pyro for outlands, but not sure if I need it over the increased overall dps of fire for questing purposes (will probably want it when I am doing more PVP).

Yea I was thinking all 3 for fire would work...
until I saw some frost mage AoE grinding videos..
Thought maybe that would work well...
But so far... Havn't exactly found a spot to do that because I outlevel every spot so fast...
For fire, what exact talents should I put in? Apparently I have really stupid ones for frost...

The problem i see with frost is trying to get blizzard to go off on 3 mages ... im new so im sure it can be done i just dont know how

It's very possible with Octopus using the mouse broadcasting thing.
Works well for me, I just set a macro so they all face the angle so I can do 3 blizzards, flamestrikes at the exact same spot.
It's been working really well for me with improved blizzard, permafrost and shatter.

Should I stick to frost mage? Or, should I respec to fire? Maybe 1 frost 2 fire?

That setcvar stuff turns off the sound you hear when trying to activate trinkets and they are not up. So I never hear that crap when I am spamming my buttons.

Basically you add a blank wav. It is very borderline and might get you in trouble but perhaps a few more folks asking about its will spark them to answer. This to me is similar to what fishing buddy did when it added a louder sound to the fishing bobber.

Again I do not know if this is allowable.

I'm running 5 mages, and currently I'm heading for something like:

You are talking about AoEgrind as frost, and that calls for imp. blizz and Perma Frost. If you can't target all blizzards, then just screw it.
Questing gives alot better XP than grinding unless you find elites and killing is fast.
I like frost for extra survibilty, Ice Barrier ftw! Also, slow and chance of root is awesome.
With all 5 frost bite and shatter, I have a nice high chance of critting etc. and stuff should die in max 2 rounds of frostbolts = 5seconds.

My mages run with my shaman so the pom pyro goes nice with em ns cl. Blast wave is nice for those melee who want to run circles on me. I would suggest trying a few specs to see what you like. If you want to do pom pyro thats a easy macro that will cast your trinkets and nuke in 1 button.

They're still level 41 and I'm still toying around with a few things.
As of now, I took out frostbite+shatter+ice shards since frostbite just kinda screws things up, blizzard doesn't crit so shatter+ice shards are uselss.
I've tried going to ulda and getting my main guy to run around collect maybe like 8 mobs max and just getting all 3 to blizzard
It hasn't been working out too badly!
In fact, I think this would be a good way to XP just keep instance grinding.

And yes, I can get all 3 blizzards off at the same time.
If you have a problem with that, I suggest downloading Octopus even if you have Keyclone.
I just disable everything on Octopus except the mouse broadcaster and use Keyclone for the rest! =)

Nope, I'm running 3 WoW clients on my laptop and I can get all my mages to cast blizzard.

They're all 45 now
