Is there something in the latest version of octopus where I can disable the passing of keystrokes temporarily?

For example, I'd like to use my letters for key bindings, but don't what the toons to use them when I type on my main. So if I hit the Enter key, it'd disable key broadcast in Octopus or pause it, and enable broadcast again when I hit the Enter key again.

Yeah, check the Server-->Options screen. Set enter to the "Key broadcast" binding and uncheck the "State" box. Should work for ya. Note that if you get enter out of sync, it'll make things hard on you. I just set Pause to the key broadcast one and Scroll Lock to the Bypass one. Then when I need to confirm firewall prompts or lock the cursor on my screen for certain games, I just hit scroll lock. For pausing while chatting, I just hit pause before and after. Works well for me. :)

Don't forget that you can bring up/exit the chat box in ways other than the Enter button (depending on your keybindings, but Escape probably still does the same thing), which would very easily lead to the out of sync mayhem described above.
