So bout 3 mins ago, im in AV im happily killin... taking back coldtooth mine.. i take it back then runoutside and am leaving.. i see a pally and warrior going back in.. i 1shot the pally then start fighting the warrior.. my toons arn't healing me.. well.. like 3 are.. then 2.. then 1.. imw atching their casting bars drop.. l;ike WTF so then.. all 4 followers get ported to shat, where they are bound and get a deserter flag.. my main guy stays right there no problem in AV...

So WTF.. does PVP not count as not afk? or should i make sure to hit my spacebar from time to time? or did i just get dicked? i did notice with keyclone that moving your team ot casting totems doesn't take AFK off in a normal town and such?

I have noticed that if I dont hit space bar every now and then all my toons goto afk since I have unbound so many of their keys. I try to remember to jump every now and then especially when i am traveling or in town.

why is it though that casting spells doesn't reset the AFK timer?

Test it.

/afk then heal someone as you normally would.

AFK flag stays.

/afk again and then press spacebar.

AFK goes away.

afk flags go away for me whenever i cast spells on my shamans. perhaps its instants that don't clear the afk. Putting someone on /follow though definitely doesn't clear AFK.

whats really fun in AV is if someone starts harassing you in chat about being a multiboxer, you can use all your chars to report them as AFK. It only takes 3 or 4 to give them the debuff. I find it very satisfying to suddenly see them yell in chat about who is the **** that marked them inactive.

i don't think casting removes it at all.. will play with it tomorrow.. lesson learned. i was in the middle of fighting when they got booted.:(

Had fun today at other expense though. i kept taking SFGY and making hour long turtles:) goofy mood...

AFK goes away when I reset /follow. Or maybe it's the /focus reset, not sure as it's all in the same macro for me.

However, I bunny-hop (damn FPS (Tribes--skiing) habit) all the time so I really don't have an issue. ;)

if you /afk in any BG you automatically get ported to your hearth location and get tagged with deserter.

Entering combat is supposed to clear any AFK reports others may have done on your team, but it will NOT clear the AFK tag if your team has been idle. you'll have to jump / move to clear it.

Slash commands don't clear AFK. So, if you're casting using /cast macros, that might be the problem.

I must admit, I haven't encountered the problem, but I jump alot though... it's just.... so addictive... bounce bounce bounce...

Anyway, if it's slash commands only that dont clear afk, and "normal" spells from your spellbook does, you could just hit watershield every minute or so (no reason to make that into a macro)

I'm running my warlocks mainly now, so I haven't checked on the shamans... and can't check this from work :)

I habitually jump every few minutes to make sure no one goes AFK

Using a macro to create a formation will keep you from going AFK. I have a keybind setup that moves all my characters back a step before I drink/eat. Then when done I just hit my follow key and we are off and running.

Unless I'm reading this wrong, that's automation and therefor a big "no no".

I'm also pretty sure that movement keys can't be hooked into any sort of other action.

I'm frequently tapping my water shield button and re-dropping my totems while a tower caps, etc. to keep from going afk. Last night though there was lots of connectivity problems with AV and servers in general. Got kicked off about 5 times while other friends had no problems. Ended up just going to bed early.

I'm also pretty sure that movement keys can't be hooked into any sort of other action.having a keybind to move all your characters back is far from automation, it's called movement...

Having a keybind to eat or drink is far from automation, it's something we all do every day...

Having a keybind to create a formation is far from automation...

I'm confused...

And yes, you are correct, your movement keys can't do anything but move you. Blizzard fixed that to stop botting of skills that were based on moving. However you can have bridged keycaps like my X-Keys which presses 2 keys at once, and I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing with a normal keyboard if you have a pudgy finger free...

I do it all the frickin time, I'm like a jackrabbit on speed. Doesn't matter if I'm tanking prince or riding through felwood, I'm jumping constantly. I also do it every time I start to move my team after a fight. follow key + spacebar = I know everyone's behind me and moving.

What pisses me off is when I forget to jump while a bad av premade que is going on. Sometimes my guys auto afk and then enter/exit bg with deserter. Its really stupid and I wish Blizzard would remove that auto afk thing. At best they need to increase it to a long time. I shouldnt go auto afk waiting for perform enabler to get 32+ in av. To make it worse I am clicking on the BM on every toon so they are active. The only thing that stops it is jumping.
