View Full Version : How many of you have opposite faction trying to kill you in retarded ways?

Ok so this thread can be about opposite faction people trying to kill you in the most idiotic ways...

Here are 2 things that happen to me a lot (always by mages...I think the average mage in WoW at least on Alliance side must have an IQ of 20).

First, I'll be standing around, sometimes in the wilderness, sometimes in town, and a same or lower level ally mage shows up and starts using arcane explosion...LOL.. if it doesn't work against 1 shaman its not going to work against 5...so one LB kills him, that happens a LOT. I've also had mages try to blizzard or flamestrike me (uh, earth shock anyone?)

Second, I've had a ridiculous number of mages try to counterspell my main when I'm charging up 5 lightning bolts on him...the funniest is when the other 4 kill him and I don't even have to cast a second one LOL. Like counterspelling one of my shamans is going to stop me from killing you.

In the first case where I get AoEd, its ALWAYS the mage attacking me...usually I'm standing there leaving him/her alone and then suddenly a blizzard or AE fires up...

So to any of you playing Alliance, are horde mages this dumb or is it just alliance?

I get this a lot too, though usually mostly in battlegrounds since I'm not often flagged in the outside world, my server being a PvE server as it is.
And it only has any noticeable effect when there are 4 or more mages doing it.

I had a 70 warlock come up to me @ 61 in hellfire, while I was capping towers... he flagged and tried to fear me... while I was standing in a forest of totems.

I owned him shortly, checked armory and he's a 350 resiliance player...

Last night @ 62 I'm doing the towers again, he actually manages to fear me running between the towers... my guys go 4 cardinal directions, as soon as fear breaks I've dropped tremor and grounding while I'm rounding the boys up... he gets one of me down to 5% before I killed him.

Another mage was watching all this, came up and stood there flapping... I had him @ 8% before he got out of range on his nether drake...

Man.. playing on pve servers is like having sex with a condom.. sure its safer.. but sure doesn't feel as good....

And funny you post this...

Today i am in HFP doing the blood/fire daily.. im all done and turning it in and i see a pally near by, i don't think anything of it.. but then here comes the avengers shield.. im like WTF you are joking...
Sure enough he runs in and starts poking at my guys.. then a hunter drops outa the sky and does his thing... 1 shot the pally with the NS macro MMMMM sex on a button there... and then waste the hunter with no one taking any real damage...

So i fly up and start to head to netherstorm to do the attack plans.. and im like F this... and i go back to find that pally.. hes with another pally.. so i land and hit my NS macro.. 1shot the first pally and other to 10%.. other one is like WTF! cause she didnt see us before.. hunter lands again.. i 1 shot his ass with that pretty s3 bow... i let the other pally go cuase im a live and let live kinda guy...

so i fly upto nether storm and i do that daily at B'naar so i land in my spot.. and CL 2 be's... sure enough a different hunter that i saw when i came in drops outa the sky and starts shooting... 1 shot...

WTF is with these people.. if i see a group of allies i don't run in and start hitting one... i AM a group of people.... you will not solo me easily:)

BTW.. has anyone noticed how weak hunters are? i havn't had one that really hurt me that i can remember:( glad i stopped playin them..

With RAF I'm sorely tempted to level a group on a pvp server, the thing is I spent 4000g from 1-60 (including epic ground) and only got around 800g of that back from drops... If I had some way to get some basic funding I'd go for it, 1K would get me going to the point that I could get 60 and farm the gold for my epics then... the world pvp does have an appeal to it.

wow RAF must suck for money:( if you came to Dark iron i would give ya like 300.. just for starter gear.. horde side wins almost all AV..

BTW... once you go pvp you wont go back.. people have the impression that on a pvp server you die every 5 mins to a opposing player...

on DI, which is a heavy pop server i was ganked a total of 4 times til lvl 62... and i think those 4 times were to a ass in gadget that was camping lowbies...

The upside is that i had a ally priest /spit on my toons while doing dailies on the isle.. i took 10 steps outa town where the guards wouldn't get me and 1 shotted his ass into dust...

I thought i wouldn't want to play on pvp but... i could never go back to pve.. my own opinion of course:)

I was playing eots.

I stood around, capping a tower. Then a priest came along. I expected the usual failed aoe fear-charge. But no, he started to mana burn one of my 5 shamans.

Good luck with that :D

Hunters who volley me make me laugh the most.

I ran into a gnome rogue a couple of days ago that was stupid enough to have a go at me. We kept meeting eachother at the same quest areas, because wewere doing the same quests. During our first encounter I just scared him off by staring at him with 100% crit and the totem farm activated. When I met him again he threw a distract at my group and in a reflex I fired an earth shock at him.. took away 75% of his health. At our third encounter, he tried to kill my main while I just stood there healing and trying to /shoo him away (pesky gnomes nipping at my feet).. which is when I noticed that his flurry skill was actually killing one of my alts. 5 flame shocks forced him to vanish, a second later his corpse unstealthed :)

one of the things that made me laugh more on an arena was... a team, 3 man down, and a disc priest mana burning my main, like... "we still can win, im burning all his mana!" llololo i laughed hard.

also the counterspell on main is quite usual.

and no, its not only ally mages who are retards. all mages try to aoe. i had a hard time leveling up on my pvp server after 65. i was like a magnet to horde mages, until i started to be able to kill'em. best thing that can happen, is a mage, jumping to u, making all kinds of aoe, ends up dying and stays on the body..for like...3 or 5 minutes....

theres also those mages on neutral cities, that know where to go to avoid getting killed by guards. their like ppl that are there just for that, whenever someone gets into town, there they go again. talk about boxer having no life lool.

My favorite is casters that attack my grounding totems with 3-second-cast-time spells. Repeatedly.

The two most common retards for me:

When I was in the 50s, warlocks trying to kill my group with Seed of Corruption. The first time I got owned by that because I wasn't watching. Every time after that I kept an eye out and... 5x grounding totems. LB LB LB LB dead 70

And also when I was in the 50s, I think like 5 or 6 different rogues (in my level range) tried to gank my main. It's like... yeah, my 4 others are looking right at you. If they had any intelligence they'd sap an alt while I was running (and maybe not notice it), or blind my main and have a go at a follower... or not just unstealth around me ;)

Weak AoE spamming is a strictly alliance thing. I've never seen any horde mages arcane explosion spam in crowded areas. That may be why we lose AV, but win every other BG.

The main stereotype are gnome mages jumping in, AoEing twice then dying, or night elf hunters volleying.

Arcane explosion is good, I can kill multiboxers with it on my main singlebox mage but it requires a bit of common sense instead of just coming from the front and walking into 5 LB's.

All the time!

On a good note we have fraps  to capture these momments. Full S2 skull level warlock trying 2 times in a row and failing? Epic. Rolling a fully skull level epiced out Shaman twice in a row because you killed his alt? Win... Recording fights like this then named and shamed on the internet? Priceless.

A terrible alliance mage has 1 key on his interface, arcane explosion.

A Normal alliance mage has 2 keys on his interface. Blast wave then arcane explosion

a decent alliance mage had 3 keys, Blast wave, arcane explosion and if he remembers dragons breathe.

A good alliance mage screams omfg cheater and runs the other way to waste mana on something that he can kill.

i'm sure it swings both ways on faction about mages, but yeah pretty much.

Almost every warlock I encounter tries to put seed of corruption on all four of my toons. Never works. It's kind of a good idea, and would work if they were behind a tree or something and I wasn't paying attention.

Biggest fails are holy nova spam, volley, and hurricane.

Arcane explosion from solo mages. Won't work against my group - two 5 second silences, two death coils, four aoe fears. In group pvp its a bit more effective if I"m fighting others or low on cooldowns, but in general I just wreck stupid mages that try that nonsense. We're not shaman

In arena, up against a team with two hunters, a mage, a lock and a shadowpriest.

First fight, they just came one by one, easy pickings.

Second fight, they all charged me, ran into me, tried to fear me, lay down traps, whatever. But they totally forgot to dps it seemed. Fight lasted like, 30-50 seconds at least, they're highest damage done was 3k on one char. :P

Was just silly.
