Hi I've been playing WoW since release and I have never tried multiboxing at all. I want to level 3 characters at once, but 2 will do if I can't do 3. I've browsed the site extensively and have soaked up a lot of information on the subject, but I want to know if it will even work with my current setup before I go about preparing it. Here's my laptop's specs:

Processor: Intel Core Duo 2.0GHz (4MB L2 Cache)
Hard drive: 200GB 7200 RPM
RAM: 2GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 (512 MB)

What can I do with this? Any help would be appreciated.

On the same computer? 2 should run ok..... The video card might be a bottleneck @ 3 as would MAYBE the cpu and memory.... but try 3 out and see. Trial accounts are free.

I doubt 4 would give you the level of performance you desire.

Playing 2 characters on the same PC compared to playing 2 characters on separate PC's is a completely different experience. I've done both, and if you can afford the extra hardware necessary and you are serious about doing it. Go for the 2 PC setup.

Update on the Video card, it's a Go 7950 GTX, the best of the Go 7 series, not a 7600. The 7900 GTX is much better.

I realize what you mean by bottlenecking @ 3 b/c of the video card, hopefully now that I figured out that the one I actually have is much better, it will be possible to triple box.

I would like to do the 2 pc setup, but there's no room in my dorm for two computers. Two screens, maybe if I used my 32" tv/monitor.

Some of the Dells support Pic by Pic.... that might work if space is that big of a concern. That way you can display two images on a single monitor. I only think thats possible on their 24 or 27" model. Their 30" do not support that.

I agree with Ellay. Best to get two boxes. Some of the micro ATX computers are almost laptop size and anybody would be able to stick one under a desk. Heck, even the mac minis might even work - no idea on their video cards though.... might not be good enough. Also would need a gig of memory.
