View Full Version : Pally tips??
Hello, I just started Duel Boxing a few days ago an I am having a ton of fun. I'm still a noobie an, I was wondering if I can get some help on these forums.
I would like to know if anyone has any tips for 2 boxing 2 Pally's in WoW?
I never played a Paladin before an I'm still just trying to learn how to play the class right.
Any tips on spec, macros, spell rotation, gear etc... would be extremely helpful to me an greatly appreciated.
I am currently level 48 an 46 an planing to get to level 50 by tonight.
Thanks in advace.

Tip number 1: Play a Paladin (or any class) a little before you decide to box it.
Tip number 2: Try this out: http://lib.berkeley.edu/TeachingLib/Guides/Internet/FindInfo.html It's a tutorial on how to find information on the internet.
Tip number 3: Go to this site and read a up a little on how to dual(or multi) box. http://www.dual-boxing.com ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/') There's a lot of great information there if you read through the stickies, the wiki and the "new to multiboxing" section.
Question: How do you have a 48 and a 46 paladin if you've never played them before?
1) I did play it a little bit. For about 3 days now :). With R.A.F its really easy to level an I only have about 18 hours /played on the Pallys. So I am fairly new to them. But I have been playing WoW for over 3 years an I have a decent idea on what the class is about. Just have not played it myself.
2) that didn't help me
3) I've been reading on this site for the last few days an I have a fair understanding on what duel boxing is about. I just can't find what I am looking for. I don't see anything about Pally + Pally setups. Maybe I am not looking in the right places. I'm looking for some tips on what would be the best way to play with 2 pallys. I don't know if I should spec them both prot an just try to AoE everything down or maybe spec 1 prot an 1 holy or maybe spec ret an prot etc....

I am also only a beginner, still in the "doing homework, acquiring hardware, learning software" phase. But lemme help (slow morning at work)
Short version is most boxers seem to focus on ranged dps as the core of their multibox strategy, at least to start. Specifically because it can be very difficult to get all of the toons facing the enemy. At most many folks use one melee toon, often a prot pally, because the consecrate allows easy gathering of charging mobs, and the following casters naturally will be facing the tanked mobs. For a new boxer the easiest to run and control is the shammy/pally group. Already noted ease of pally aggro, the shammies have the best caster armor, they can heal, they can rez, and they have an effective AE that does not require ground targeting. Totems and the totem stacking is just bonus.
Some veteran (and insane) boxers have done various multiple pally/rogue/warrior combinations, but generally it's less common and seems to be something for an experienced boxer.
Running a pally by itself I don't know if you're ret or prot. Ret is simple, ret aura, put up a blessing (kings or might for damage, wisdom to improve regen), SoC, occasional consecrate, crusader strike, repeat. prot Blessing of Sacrifice, ret aura, holy shield as often as possible, keep Light and/or Wisdom judged and on yourself as needed. Righteous fury in both cases. Dual boxing pallies alone is a little unorthodox, the only synergy they give is each pally having 2 blessings up, and an additional seal on the mob offhand.

Thanks for the info.
I got a level 30 shammy that I will get gift some levels to once I hit 60. So maybe I will givet he Pally + Shammy combo a try.
I was thinking that 2 pallys would be able to just aoe everything down without a problem but after playing it for a few days now I'm starting to see its not at easy as I thought. For now I will keep searching the forums for more helpful info an see how it goes.

I wouldn't do both prot. I would like to try one prot and one holy. Both consecrate, P2 heals, shocks and keeps a 2nd seal judged. I have had mild success with 2 paladins in a group. I had to bing an odd key to move foreward on P2 so he would be in melee range and I had to be a bit creative with macros.
From a standpoint of finding new ways to be OP, this probably isn't the best setup but it sounds like fun. That is what would motivate me to try this. There is a post theorycrafting about 3 paladins, if you can find it.
