I currently have 5 non RAF shammys at L20 (barely level 20) and if I understand RAF correctly...I would be better dumping them and starting a new team from zero using RAF? If I understand it right, the new L1's would get to 60 WAY faster with 3x exp?

Something like this:

ExistingA > Refer NewC NewD

ExistingB > Refer NewE

Then, I suppose I could transfer these 3 new toons back to the 3 'unused' existing accounts once I get to 70 if I want to keep it to 5x14.95 in the end.

Just wanting to make sure I looking at this correct before I shell out 3x$40 (3 battlechest) and 3 more x 14.95

If money isn't a problem, getting to 60 is fast.

You have Account A1, A2, A3, A4 and A5 now?
And you plan to keep them all?

How many characters each account, and what levels, as well as how well geared?

Battlechest was $25 in Circuit City, some stores have it down to $30 as well.

If you plan to just xfer, might as well get the classic without BC for $20. Since transfers cost $25 each.

Absolutely. You can expect to hit 60 in ~2 days played by quest boosting and ~3 days played through normal questing. My experience pre-RAF was closer to 10-12 days played through questing. A substantial difference. Plus you'll have nearly 120 levels to give away once you hit 60. And it's sooo much more fun when xp moves fast, IMO.

If they are level 20 and you have nothing else on the accounts don't even consider transferring them. Level 20 wont take long at all questing under RAF. My four 'locks hit 60 in 2 days 6 hours straight questing, the mages I'm levelling now are going to be even faster. This is wearing only quest reward gear on the way up and no boosting. I refuse even to wear BoE greens, not only does it stop the team looking the same, but with that next level never more than an hour away it's pointless to waste something I can sell. Unless you have an existing high level character levelling at this speed with leave you hurting for gold.

The slowest levels are always when you need to change zone, travelling to get the next flight point gets you into 90 min levels. For the second group I am logging in the 'locks, getting them to a distant flight point, and using the RAF "summon friend" (or summoning portal when it's not up) to pull the mages in.

I started RAF because I realised that I could get a full team of 4 to 60 faster than I could get my Shaman/Pally duo from 42 to 60. The duo had something over 4 days at 42, they now have 5mins longer played but are level 60 thanks to gifting.

Only thing is.... I'm addicted to quadding, I orignially intended to abandon accounts 3 & 4 but now I'm trying to find ways to finance subscriptions for the full team (the first 70 days cost almost nothing). Only thing on my christmas list is 60 day game cards, and perhaps, multiple copies of WoTLK.. =P

I had 5 level 24 shammys when RAF became avilable, and did what you are considering to do here, it works. Its fast to just make a new team from scratch instead tough, if you dont want to spend the money on the transfers.

If he does as he decribe, he woudnt need locks at all. As long he have a high level with flightpaths gathered at existing account A and B. Just use the high level chars on A and B to summon new guys on C and E, then use theese to summon new guys on A and B, and finish of with new guy on A summoning new guy on D. The summon cooldown is character based, not account based.

If I were in your position, I would do it. The startup cost is sorta high, but I think a lot of us mulitboxers have enough disposable income to cover it. I started my team about 2 weeks before RAF so I was already in my 40s or I would have restarted for sure.

You're absolutely correct Conanette, it does not have to be 'locks, it just happens that my first group are 'locks =D. Although to be fair it's situationally useful to use the warlock group as an extra hearthstone when questing in a large zone, warlock summoning the group in to do hand ins.

I restarted my hunter team that was at L21 or so. I didn't regret it in the slightest. Getting to L20 under RAF is pathetically low-effort...

My 5-box team was somewhere around 43 or so when RAF came out. I dropped them in a heartbeat and started over. 2 days /played and I have 5 level 47 shammies and 5 level 46 paladins. Both sets will hit Outland this week, then it's on to two more teams.

The XP is insane. I can't even upgrade because I outlevel things too fast. I was done with STV before I realized that half my guys were still wearing grey garbage from the starter zone mobs. I was getting like 15k xp for quests like Bloodsail Bucaneers. I got like 24k for Into The Scarlet Monestary and The Spider God. Totally worth it if you want to level fast.

if you have the money to spare, do it IMO.

You can get to 20 in about 4 hours with RAF

Ihave about 5 or 6 toons on vet accounts that are 10-49 . I they will be gone to make room for more 4 teams

I will leave some to gift lvls to but rest are gone.

Let's put it this way, I abandoned a lvl 44 Shaman group because I was 100% positive I could level to 1-60 twice as 44-60 fast with RAF and have more fun doing it. Anything under 50 is worth it, IMO, as long as money isn't a big factor.
