Alright, so the damn commercials got the better of me, and so I (having never bought, nor played any of the Half-Life series) bought the Orange Box (PC Gamer recommending it had something to do with it as well). I've installed ONE game from the box, Portal, and wow what a game. I've never had a game that I was so determined to solve and finish on my own. Everytime a task seemed insurmountable rather than give up or look online for a guide I told myself every puzzle in here is passable. And frankly after playing this game I think it should be included as a requirement to just pass high school, or as an entrance exam to any college or high learning institution. Hell, if every politician had to play through this game just to pass common sense check and decision making 101 we would have a lot higher quality politicians. If you haven't had a chance to pick it up, I recommend it, honestly I haven't had this much fun or the much of a mental challenge in forever. As you play you will feel real satisfaction in accomplishing something worthwhile, as you push your brain to think harder and outside the box, literally. And if you pick it up and start going through thinking I'm smarter than that guy that posted, I sure this can't be as challenging as he says, more power to you, but trust me if you like Logic Puzzles and Mental Games this is the game for you.
Welcome to the Orange Box

To be honest I felt it was bit of a letdown. Great fun, and the soundtrack alone was worth the $45, but had expected more of a challenge. Ended up finishing it in about 2 hours, including the high-difficulty maps.
The trailer just made me expect some bigger maps..
Ah well, good thing there's a map editor. Let me know if you find a good site for those maps btw.

Portal = 1 of 5 Games, designed to be finished in 2-5 hrs ( Test Ground for application in Half Life 3)
Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode 1 & 2, Team Fortress 2 = 4 of 5 Games
ALL for $45, not much of a letdown if you ask me. And you can't tell me, you didn't have a ball with the furnace.

I'm not saying the pack or the price was a letdown - as I already stated the voiceover on portal was worth it, and TF2 is fairly fun - but what I am saying is that I expected the 5 hours from Portal rather than the 1½-2 I ended up with.
Anyway, what furnace? You mean the emergency intelligence incinerator?

I liked it a lot. Yes, it was much shorter than I expected but I foresee a lot of new maps for it in the near future.

There will be cake for you.
I played the flash version. 2D but an interesting game concept.

You mean I should do it on my own and not Thotbot it (or whatever the online equivalent is)? With that attitude, you certainly would not make it in politics. What's all this talk about high standards in politics anyway? Why you must be un-American or maybe even, gasp, non-American.
