View Full Version : My No Focus Solution

Let me start off by saying I tried for months to get the "No Focus" solution to work and I failed time after time. When I finally got it to work it was great until...I needed to switch mains. After switching mains I'd target a healer who had me targeted or he was healing another target and I'd unintentionally change targets. Being a button spammer this simply didn't work for me.

Here's how it works.

I have keyclone set up to switch toons by pressing buttons 1, 2, 3, 4.

I have buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 keybound to actions pages 1, 2, 3, 4 respectively.

Whats cool about moving pages is it allows the keys to remain the same but the macros can change. Why would you want this? Well when the toon (insert number) "#" is in control his spell bar has the real spells in place. No macros with /assist so I dont run into the [target=targettarget] issues. All the other toons have their bars replaced with macros (/cast [target=targettarget] spell) and a unique "Big Button" for that toon#.

My Big Button:
/target toon#
/follow toon#

For each action bar page 1, 2, 3, 4. replace the follow button with the specified toon# in lead. The Lead toon doesnt need a follow button so I essentially need 3 different "Big Buttons" for each toon in my Quadbox.

The draw back is I can only set focus from my Mains page. I dont have a problem with that because its likely I've set my my focus from the beginning and rarely in the arena have I needed to change it after the fight has started. I can now set the focus from any toon. In my excitement I didnt realize I do the same exact thing with the focus macro and put it on the bar that rotates. So regardless of when that toon is leading its just "/focus target" and when they're on follow its "/focus [target=targettarget]"

Keybinding the button like say to C, Lshift +C, and Ctrl +C, and alt +C gives me the ability to set 4 focus macros.

Keep in mind you can have macros that dont use "/cast [target=targettarget] spell" off of the paging action bar ie. Elementals, Totems, /cast [target=focus] spells...

Hopefully I have described what Im doing in sufficient detail. Playing WoW with 3 bars is still doable and I think worthy of the price for gaining focus.

Let me know what you guys think, questions etc...

Great idea i will set it up like this when i get my new computer.

I realy lack the ability to do something when my leader dies and most players seems to know this issue!

I do almost exactly the same thing except I have another set of buttons that "/promote ToonA" (one per character name on each client). This allows me to switch windows and, if I want to, switch party leaders. Now I can use "/follow party1" or "/assist party1" or "/target [target=party1target" no matter who is the 'leader'. Since they are on different keys, it also allows me to watch the battle from my priest yet have all of the action surround my pally.

Something I discovered while running though Org and wondering why the battle master didnt have join as group. We are essentially doing the same thing, except I dont need to be grouped.
