So I managed to get 2 closed beta accounts for warhammer online and yep i gae it a shot. heres a few notes for anyone else thinking about giving it a go.

duel sorceress's where my class of choice though it was just for a muck around and really to see what type of interaction i could get going.
I software multibox so this was 2 accounts running on 1 PC, and theres no issues running multi clients as long as ur pc can handle it.
the basic commands needed are there /follow /assist /target so easy enough to do basic macros though not sure if you can add /cast as yet.
I found /follow a little sluggish, Im not sure if thats just the way chars follow or test server lagyness.

thats all i can think of note for now. I'll be testing it out a lot more come open beta and will let ya know

I set up a hardware dual box a few weeks ago, but found the lack of deep macroing ability, the excessive distance on /follow and the sluggish UI to make it more challenging that I was willing to commit to at the time. I just ordered a Vetra multiplexer so I'll give it another shot when the hardware is in place. I know that Lokked has been software multiboxing WAR for at least a couple of weeks as well, might want to get with him on some tips and scripts.

I've been playing on Barak Varr, but not sure if that will remain home once commercial release comes.

I also 2 boxed Sorcs for a few hours.

1 - You can't get the music to play while the WAR application is in the background, so with the constant flipping of windows done by HKN, the blips of sound were very annoying.

2 - WARs background windows are set to run at like 3 FPS, which is very annoying to watch with your peripheral vision. I don't know of any way to change it at this point.

3 - Software boxing this game in general is a pain in the ass. It would be MUCH better with a hardware setup, and after I get bored of playing my DoK and Black Orc (which I think will be a while) I'll set my other comps up and do the hardware method.

4 - Poor accessable API commands. I can see some API commands to use skills, but they are blocked currently. I have a feeling that restriction will be lifted on release, but I can't be sure. Right now all you can do is have 1 button to /follow, 1 button to /assist (which does NOT allow /assist <playername>, only /assist to assist your current target) and /aid.

5 - /follow takes a couple keypresses to actually work, but then it works fine. However it seems to break randomly during combat (sometimes is breaks, sometimes not) and there is no GUI indication that you are following.

All that being said, I'm getting old and can only handle so much fun. WAR played from a single character perspective is more fun then multiboxing my Shamans/ Druid in WoW, so I'm going to stick with this game for a while. Maybe multibox it later when it gets boring.

Been in the beta for a bit now. Honestly I just don't see what the big fuss is all about. The game is just another WoW clone (sorry to say but it's true). I forsee it going the same way as AOC. Big hit for the first month then all you will see is hardcore Warhammer fans.

PvP in warhammer has a point. There is a pent up demand for real PvP that the WoW naysayers don't seem to realize.

They won't have 10 million sucscribers, but an MMO can be quite successful with a couple hundred thousand for a long time. I think they'll pull this off easily.

I also think it would be a terrible game to multibox.

Warhammer will put a large dent in WoW's population as long as the game is somewhat finished at release.

Considering ease of leveling, leveling in PVP and never having to do anything but PVP to get the best weapons/gear, anyone who is anything but PVE all of the time will like the game. It's the complete inverse flip of WoW, with tons of random RvR and instanced PvP. I never thought I'd like PvP, I hate it in WoW, but I love it in WAR. The lack of instant "I W.I.N." buttons will deture the face-pwnage crowd, but that's ok with me. I never enjoyed being stunlocked 100 -> 0% over and over again.

I've been in the beta for over a year now for WAR and I really see it break down like this.

WoW is, and will continue to be, deeper, richer and fuller for PvE content with PvP as an afterthought. It has a better feel of customization with the talent trees and gear options, and the classes themselves each feel more distinct than the classes in WAR, which are basically mirror images of each other on different sides. The crafting system in WoW is currently better as well.

Of course, in WoW, you need 25 people and hours of your life wasted to get to the end game content, which is definately NOT the case in WAR. WAR is all about the PvP. Its possible to level and gear up without ever doing a single PvE quest. You can contribute to PvP and ALSO the overall realm goals from level 1. If you like PvE, there IS content in WAR, the public quests are interesting and haven't gotten old for me yet, 1 year on. The guild system in WAR is by far and away more interestsing, flexible and robust than the one in WoW which is bascially a private chat room with a shared bank and a name tag. The dual-leveling (regular levels and realm ranks) gives you some sense of ability to progress and customize yourself in WAR. Also, don't forget that there is the whole Tome of Knowledge, which allows you to exp, get access to titles and even get access to talents and abilities through exploration and achievement. Nothing like that has ever existed in a game before.

I don't expect that WAR will catch or unseat WoW, but it's certainly no AoC and should provide amusing gameplay for quite some time. But if you love your PvE and you don't like PvP too much, I don't think that WAR will be a long term game for you, especially compared to WoW. If, on the other hand, you hate 25 man raids (and the need to do them), the limited number of "battlegrounds" (4 in WoW vs 20+ in WAR, plus open field PvP, keep warfare and claiming) and grinding levels before you can start to really play effectively, WAR may well be the game for you.

Now as for multi-boxing it...that's another story.

Hi all

New to multiboxing and hoping someone can help me out

Im currently trying to setup 2 accounts on 1 pc using HotKeyNet

so far i can have managed to set it up fine however WAR seems to have a problem where buy the second account doesnt accept commands properly if it is not in focus

what ends up happening is the 2 accounts switching really fast between each other. like your Alt+tabbing like mad

Seem as you all have managed to get it working i was hoping someone can point me in the correct direction? perhaps over software etc?

please advise

thanks in advanced

Hello, if you need help I would suggest you post your question in New Multi-Boxers & Support ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Board&boardID=11'), this forum is for non-support general discussion.
