I thought i might float an idea i have had in my head for a little while now. And that idea is "BOXCON 2009" :D Seeing that blizz runs a yearly (?) arena match ups why cannot we do the same thing? (Well there are probably a lot of reason why could not, but that is not to be discussed here :P)

I am sure sponsorship could be gained to help with costs etc, i am pretty sure i saw a brand new and spiffy banner on the home page....hint hint. and blizz may even want to come to the box party.

I for one would fly from Oz to be part of this, and i would even pay for my healer friend to fly so she can join in the action.

i thought of matchs could have the follow guidelines

2v2: dual-boxer only.
3v3: tri-boxers only
5v5: boxer + friend? or just simple 5 teams?

so what do you think? good idea or should i get back to work and actually earn my pay-packet for once?

When they bring up the Tournament Realms or Test Realms we could hold tournies on there and give away prizes :) that would probably be the easiest route. Everyone would have the same gear as well. Shall see what happens when the time comes~

Wouldn't shaman vs shaman box team be a little to based on luck ?
I mean, that's what the majority of the boxers play.

Oh god yes.

Running a weak 5's comp to the general public, but my comp is the anti shaman group. A guarentee to run into shaman groups of 4 -5 ontop of eachother = WIN!

Not sure about tournament stuff but I really like the idea of a multi-boxing convention. The only thing is we are all pretty spread out. For me to be able to attend it would have to be somewhere like St. Louis, Nashville or Atlanta.

But... but... Fire Nova + Frost Nova/Arcane explosion rotations while jumping around you rooted to the ground is SO. MUCH. FUN.
Oh and on the run in I Shield/Prom the main, and every AOE is also a max rank CoH ;)

GG :)

GG :)Whats CoH like in PvP? Atm while I spam AE on my mages I spam Holy Nova on my priest lol. It works ok most of the time but its terribly inefficient. More to the point what kinda spec do you run in PvP, do you atually have CoH or do you go PS? You have piqued my interest :)

When controlling my priest by itself with velani's 4 shaman I use Pain Suppresion for sure.

For just screweing around aoe'in fools, CoH fo sho.

He means "fixing" turtles in BGs. And "defending" Vanndar.

He does (usually) spec Pain Suppression for 5v5 with my 4 ele shammies, but there was this one time where we didn't bother (he went in full PvE CoH spec... I can't remember -- were you wearing your PvE gear?) and we tore stuff up. I think that was the first time we hit 1650?

In any case, when we beat our guild leader's 5's team (our guild leader was not present that particular fight) Suvega was full CoH pve spec. They failboated pretty badly.

The only time we've run up against a 5-boxer in arenas, Suvega was on his 4 mages (having JUST respecced fire from a losing streak with frost) and I was on my resto shammy.

I've beaten a 5x fire mage set up in arena a few times. :o

Anyhow, as for shaman vs shaman boxers. I don't think it's much about luck at all. :P More like tactics and abusing weaknesses.

Round robin grounding totems, LoS play in you favor with some strafing, Nuking their grounding totems (With purges or so.) before dpsing. It's really a battle of wits, not really a battle of luck imo. :P

Wouldn't Shaman vs Shaman just be two teams sitting in their own corners in their own totem farm for like...ever?

Step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward, re-apply totems, step forward.

They'll get there, eventually. :P
