View Full Version : How many actually take revenge of the corpse campers?

We all are lowbies at one time or another and run across people who like to camp our corpses. I think maybe even moreso due to the fact we are boxers and they just seem to get more interested in trying to make us miserable. :)

Today I was in Hillsbrad Foothills with my level 60 druids to kill some alliance (after they pwned Taren Mill for a while and my lowbie shamans couldn't quest). When I was leveling my Druids I ran across a horribly dedicated corpse camper by the name of Adams (pet name is Jefferson). This is on Mag, btw. He had killed me so many times I lost count. Even with level 70's killing him he would wait until I rez'd and hit me again. Over and over again.

Well, I say payback is a bitch! I found out he is level 66 which is no match for my druids. I had him running from me all over Hillsbrad today to the point he finally logged out. I could only get a couple of shots off at him but 5 moonfires hit him and the DoT almost killed him. I know he remembers me and I imagine he is thinking back and maybe he wishes he didn't do that to me that one day. hehe.. I am using one of my other accounts that RAF took over and am using it as a spy account. I am going to pretty much make his life miserable for a bit (not to extreme mind you).

Does anyone else ever do this? I use Vanas KoS (Kill on Site) that keeps track of people you want it to and when I saw it alert and had Adams in the box I felt like a giddy schoolgirl.

Does anyone else ever do this? I use Vanas KoS (Kill on Site)

I use the same mod.

My hunter group hit HFP this weekend. I can kill single 70 usually without issue. I can kill a 70 plus a lowbie without issue.

I had a few moments where I had to dig out my mains this weekend, but one of the more amusing was a set of priest + prot paladin who were doing the "Voidwalkers Gone Wild" quest. Now, I don't attack anyone while I'm leveling (it only slows down the leveling process), but they run up and start trying to kill me. I figure because I'm wiping out all the spawns since it's a collection quest, but no matter. I wipe them easily and continue questing (usually lowbies leave me alone if they think they don't have a chance.

They didn't even bother rezzing. In come 3 70's with kara gear -- warrior, priest, and I believe a mage or lock.

I switch to my 5x shammies (my main is still speced raid enh, but oh well. It's just 3 guys with kara gear). I mop the floor with them again -- this time on their 3 mains in kara gear -- and threaten them with the wrath of /doom.

This is where it got fun. More and more guildies start streaming in. I wipe them again.

http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/1310/kostl1.th.jpg (http://img235.imageshack.us/my.php?image=kostl1.jpg)

Finally, they put a strat together -- get their warrior to put on a shield for reflects and start smacking all of my tremors while spamming fears. When the dust clears, all NINE of their level 70 mains are flying away. I died, yes, but they weren't going to stick around any longer. The two lowbies were just not worth NINE peoples' time.

When their lowbies rezzed, they /wave spammed me to know they were done. I did a couple chain heal stars and logged on my hunters, and they didn't bother me anymore

Since my 1st team right now is only 62.5 i usually leave my main pvp speced 70 in the same region when i get attacked more the once and get killed i revert to him and go to town (not always winning it is a 7-1 ration on my server)

That being said there are many 70's that are KoS on my list and an entire guild too that i will KoS when i get to 70. For now I stick to farming instances and move from zone to zone, ill come back for teh rep quests late in order to get heroic keys.

They can't kill us, and then we must pay :pinch:

I keep my s4 rogue nearby when I'm out questing. I'm sure people regret ganking my lowbies with their 70's. Soon my lowbies won't be so low and won't need any help from my rogue.

I play on a pve server so this isn't normally an issue, the few times I've had issues I've made notes of their names. If I see someone flagged I generally try to jump in and have some fun... often I die, and then when I rez I useually go on my way... the other day this skull warlock kept after me for about 8 rez's... Reaganmagoo will remain on my KOS list for quite some time... assuming I got the name right, it didn't show up on armory the day he was after me, and it doesn't show up now...

I double checked the spelling but I suppose it could have been Reagarmagoo or something similar and I missed it.

Hehe. This is where VanasKos really shines - you can target and add them to your KoS / hatelist, or "add last attacker" if it all got a bit frantic :)

Highly recommended.

I'm on a PvE server too, and have ALOT more names from my own faction on that list than on the enemy faction. It's always nice to know that I don't want to toss that particular person a heal or whatever!

This is why, about 9 months ago, I moved all of my characters off a PVP server.

I don't understand how this is fun to deal with constant power struggles while trying to quest or farm for materials. You basically can not sit down with WoW and just do an outdoor quest in total peace without the possibility that you'll have to end up in a huge PVP contest.

The final straw for me was a hunter repeatedly shooting me down while I was trying to do the racing quests for Netherwing.

This is the very thrill that keeps WoW from getting boring (at least for me).

Is someone of the opposite faction trying to farm "your" mobs; "your" nodes?

Kill em.

But as multiboxers we become super-predators. I love the power behind it.

So far i have leveled warlock, rogue, druid, warrior, paladin to 70 and my 5 shamans is nearly 60..

I have never been in any situation that i would call corpsecamped for all my time in wow.

Sure people kill you without reason but its VERY rare that people corpsecamp without a reason. Multiboxing is what i would consider a reason for beeing ganked but who didnt know that when they started?

You cant denie the fact that some people find multiboxing quite lame and against the spirit of the game even i respect that.

The best way to react when you KNOW your gonna get ganked is to do nothing. I usualy do /cheer on the 70's and let them kill me, pro tip against warriors is to spread out so that they cant WW you. BELIVE me its just a pain to kill 5 lowbies with a 3.7 2 hander. :)

But as multiboxers we become super-predators. I love the power behind it.I'm a big time carebear. I'll fly in and save a horde or alliance guy. If I see someone die I'll clear out the area and rez them if I can. I aim to please. It's not really a way you can play all the time on PVP. When I played PVP I would get killed even if I tried to help out a horde. On PVP I would get corpse camped just for the hell of it, even if I wanted to be friendly with someone. I'm not trying to argue here, but I think it's not something people usually stop to think about a PVE player, that there are actually play styles you can't do on PVP very well just as you can't PVP as much on a PVE server. It's not like you're just flat out missing out on a part of the game on PVE. I don't want anyone to look down on me. I am sensitive about it because I played PVP for so long simply because of the ego factor.

By the way, to stay more on topic, I hate corpse campers and I would absolutely have gone out of my way to kill one. If I were still on PVP I would take time out to hunt one down even if I'd rather be questing.

You dont miss a big part but the pvp part were people actually care. If you attack them in a bg they just mindless trow frostbolts or whatever.. If you attack someone outdoors most do everything not to die (aka popping cds potions and actually trying etc) So to me i would say i missed a big part of the game if i had gone pve... There are times i wish certain grind zones allowed you to kill people of your own faction just because of the fact that i hate the fact that people can "steal" the mobs i need. I did that nelf "pvp" quest in hinterlands last night along with 4 other hordes needless to say the quest took insanly long and i would have toasted them without a seconds doubt if i was able. :)

The battlegrounds are already filled with pve carebears even on pvp servers.

I love being on a pvp server. I love reading stories like Vyndree's, it inspires me to get better. I don't think I'll ever be that good, but I keep plodding along tying to improve.

Currently, If I can get some totems down, and catch them at range, I can pretty much take anything out.

However, yesterday I had two mages swoop in on me with their epic mounts and arcane explosion me down real fast and there was not much I could do. When they put the campfire down, I just logged and worked on my rogue. That's the good thing about having multiple accounts and toons, I can just go do something else and laugh at them for spending who knows how long hovering over my logged out corpses, while I'm off doing something else.

Funny thing was, I logged back in after a couple hours and there was a shaman in wolf form hiding behind a tree, I asked him who he was hiding from. He said some 70 druid and 60 something war was ganking him. So, with no dual arcane explosion mages around, I said, np, I'll handle it, he said oh sure, your only 65... He didn't see all my other toons yet. So went over and blew up the druid, and took out the war. He goes "OMG" so I waved and took off and finished my quest lol.. that druid followd me around while I was picking up mushrooms, he kept dropping his treants on me, and I kept blowing them up, it was pretty funny.

I loved when the 70 lock came with his felpuppy out, and thought he was going to shadow bolt me? ummm 5 shaman, see the grounding totems ? guess not, ok *ZZZZZZZAP* laser beam from hell. I love the way gnomes get tossed on to their back when they get blown up and they go "oooooooooowwwwwwwww" and die. I can't believe he actually tried it twice

I was in zanger working on steam pumps, a geared shaman and holy priest swooped down and got me when I didn't expect it. I guess they where getting scales and oil for a raid or something because they kept going over all the mobs in the area. So I waited, did the dishes, came back and saw them pre-occupied, I rezed, chain healed, potted for mana, and the priest saw me and started running toward me *ZAP* killed the priest, the shaman stood there looking at me, then went ghost wolf and tried to run, I *FROST SHOCK* and *ZAPPED* her dead too. I moved up and dropped my totem farm on their corpses. Killed them both again as they tried to rez. They finally got away when I was dealing with respawns. So, I wispered them from my alt account "lol@u" and they where all, "your exploiting a glitch, we're reporting you!!!" so I "lol'd at them again, and they had me on ignore by then. Too funny.

I was hiding under the bridge in hellfire waiting for the towers to turn neutral, it did, so I went and blasted some druid ( I love Thrallmar marks :) ) so I went back under the bridge, some lock saw me, he came under the bridge, I had all my wolfs stacked up, I guess he didn't realize I was a we, so he tossed a dot at me and I tossed him a *ZAP* and blew him up lol imagine his surprise. moe marks, yay lol.

Just a normal pvp weekend, I love it. I would be really bored and pissed off that I couldn't kill people on a pve server. In fact, I think Shat city should be pvp enabled, that would be awesome. I wish I could kill toons in my own faction. I'd love to take out those people that say crap about me in chat. I don't usually kill toons my level questing around me by themselves in the same area, unless they start in on my mobs. Then I'll /shoo them, if they don't leave then their dead. But if I see a 70, they are going to die If I can get to them because they are usually farming my mobs, or ganking. Either way they are usually trouble. They usually want to see if they can "take out the lowbie group" if they think they have a chance.

Each kind of server has things you can't get on the other. Even on a PVP people can steal your mobs if they kill you back or if they're same faction, though. What you're missing is the danger of being out there vulnerable or having world PVP break out. But on PVP you can't have the relaxation and 24/7 carebear environment. Which sounds lame, but my blood pressure can't handle PVP all the time!

I think the Isle is the best/worst place for pvp/ganking at 70. I usually don't have any issues when running my group, but I did run into another boxer who had 5 shaman, with worse gear, but one extra. I killed this group twice to help out some other alliance that were getting one shot, neither time did I camp though. Then I ran into the group on the beach and I wound up the loser, when I got back to my corpses there was a totem farm set up and the other boxer group was waiting for me. I didn't let it bother me, I just logged to my RAF accounts for the rest of the night :D

I would never play on a pve server, even if boxing were not allowed, I played for 3 years before ever boxing anyway. I love the uncertainty when playing in an area with horde, not knowing whether they will get brave alone or get friends together and kill you. Adds a bit of excitement to it all, camping does suck but oh well.

As far as my lowbies go, I have a group of 4 locks at 20, about to enter pvp zones, my shaman team will come to back them up if they get ganked/camped. 8o

Well while leveling my first group I got killed and camped a few times, both in old world and BC. This time around I had enough with this crap so I brought out the locks a few times.

I decided to do the Nemmy quest line in STV (I avoided this zone with my locks for the most part). While picking up the quests I was there no more than the time it took to ride from the town to the quest giver to be camped have a camp fire placed down and tea bagged by a shaman.
I fired up the locks and sprinted out there and stopped before that shaman, he did /cry then I did /nod and /agree then killed him 5 times. During that time a few others logged their mains to hunt this guy down because he was camping them. So I camped him while they finished up all the quests they had. Then in exchange they camped him while I finished up my quests in that area lol.

Next time I was working on the pirate hat quest in Gadgetzan area. 70 mage came in and aoed my group down in like 2 explosions. Logged on my mains nearby and camped him for 2 deaths and waited for his to sprite rez which was my intention. I saw him the next day on my alts and he steered clear of them.

The creator, I was down there questing and smoked a few alliances. They of course went to get their mains. Ganked me in town. I prepared and had my locks logged on top of that cave in town. Within I’d say thirty seconds of ganking my group they had 16 dots on all of them and a full undead group muching on their corpses. I camped them all until they all managed to finally make it on the wind rider out of there. It also pretty much cleared the entire zone of alliance. Logged back on my alts and didn’t see a sole for the rest of my gaming session that day.
While in Hellfire I wasn’t in the mood to PVP so I left the surrounding alliance alone unless they got to close for comfort. Mean time this fully PVP epiced warrior continued to jump off his mount from the sky and two shot my entire group. He did this a good seven times before I had enough. I logged on my mains and went to that area; the warrior promptly jumped on his flying mount and ran with his tail between his legs. I went back to my shamans and continued to quest. Only this time I killed anyone in sight.

So that pissed off someone and they logged in their 70 shaman, he had PVE epics I wiped the floor with him and continued to quest while standing around his corpse. He tried a few times which I captured on video but I smoked his skull level of fail. Unable to defeat me he gather a entire group of 70s to kill me. So there’s 5 hovering over my shamans ready for attack. I logged of and switched to my mains which just so happened to be logged of right there. They took to the sky I flew up there, and dacned with them. I called them out and landed on the group and waited 10mins. None had the balls to fight me. On a good note two of them got to close and died in mid flight from my dots.

Last time was this weekend I was in the outlands marsh and a bunch of alliance was ganking all the horde. So I would heal the hell out of them while the guards killed them. The tables turned however and the guards attacked my shaman for healing. I made it outside town and took out a 70 shaman by that time the rest of the gank group showed up and finished me off.

I logged on the mains. Fought them all but lost. I’m out of practice but even so I was happy with the results because I have pve blues and greens while they had pvp gear sets. I fought a rogue, shaman, warlock, druid and priest. I killed them all but the lock. The lock ran around mid fight and came back after I was out of mana and hurtin, while fighting off the lock the rest came back and rezzed. Without pets and at 50% I know I wouldn’t do so good the next time so I went back to the alts and tried to kite them away from the graveyard, some followed but stopped shortly after, I guess they realized what I was doing. So I continued questing XD

TIP: Go on a PvP rampage and terrorize everyone and everything for weeks.

Eventually the other faction will learn to leave you alone. The only people who jump me these days are alliance I haven't seen before (probably haven't been camped by the locks yet), or large groups of PvP peoples which are rare on our low-population server.

I think just due to the number of boxers on Mag - the alli campers take griefing/camping to extremes especially on us boxers. Much more so than any of the other PvP servers I've played on. I dont mind getting ganked/camped thats part of being on a PvP server - but to devote upwards of 30-1hr of your time just camping a corpse is frustrating as hell. So anyway, I do the same as other poster and when questing I pre-position my main nearby.

Hi,

I'm so glad I created some new chars on a PVE server.
When I played with my Warrior or Paladin I was pretty much corpse camped each day by those Horde characters.
Server I was on was pretty much populated with epic geared ppl.
STV was a hell, even skipped it on PVE :)
Never did any corpsecamping, it's lame. Funny thing, on that server Alliance didn't help when ýou were being camped.
Horde on the other hand calls in quite some highlvl ppl when you kill them 1st.
Couldn't handle the rising bloodpressure and could become quite violent :) , so pve for me.

Seriously, I had a guild on my old PVP server that would basically pick a zone on some days and just make that zone its own personal warzone. You literally could not play there all day, because an entire zerg PVP guild would spend the whole day either sitting in your faction's town or flying to each questing zone killing everyone. I remember having a day off to play WoW and not being able to quest due to their antics. Apparently on some PVP servers, having a multibox team is enough to avoid being killed, ever.

Oh what a good day! I was in Undercity doing some auction house chores (just before Mag server reboot) and saw that my enemy Adams was in shadowfang keep. So I figure what the heck. If he stays in the instance while the server reboots he might likely be outside of it when it comes back up. And I was going to pummel him. Well, I got to the path that leads up to SFK and was stealthed with track humanoids on and my KoS went pink and had adams name in it. Well, you know what happened next. :) He grave rez'd and hearthed out. But I will get him again...and again...and again.. :)

This guy is a real prick, btw. He practically lives in Hillsbrad foothills and goes around ganking lowbies all the time. He is ALWAYS there or shadowfang keep.

If you are ever in the position where you want to be ganked, just do the tower quest in terrokar when its available. I do it everyday and its an automatic camp fest. I just call up my buddies and begin a war, has always ended with me and my buddies on top. Best part was finished ganking a guy n he rezzed and flying mounted but didnt get up high enough and was just standing there. I didn't wanna look suspicious so i just started running around on my mounts until he got used to it when i /emoted him and then elemental mastery 5x chain lightning = gg.

To answer the question, im only lvl 67 and ive already started the revenge fest by making a few 70s log out, killed one guy in gadgetzan when i was on my way to CoT because he was on my hit list. Was taken down by the guards but proceeded to do it a couple of times. When i go out of my way to do it, it doesn't bother me getting killed by guards due to the fact its planned. And i know it must piss him off because it hinders his progress, and he could never hope to kill more then 1 of my guys before the guards kill him.
