Ok I just wanted to try Heroic Ramparts on my 5 box team since I heard that is one of the easier Heroic dungeons.

My Tank has 490 def, 9.9k health, 11.5k armor, and 41% avoidance (very low still but uncrush is not needed in 5m heroics).
My Shammy team is sitting at +635 spell damage and 14% crit.
I have no dedicated healer.

I got totally destroyed by the first trash pull in ramparts. I was not expecting them to hit me for 3000+ on plate :cursing:
I mean holy crap, that is amazing. I thought being 490 def was all I needed for some of the easier heroics. But I was wrong.

What do I need to do heroics and get badges?
What is the min +healing I should have on a dedicated healer - I see I need one now
How do you play with dedicated healer? Does he just spam Healing wave 1 or Lesser healing wave 3 or do u just wait for big heals, or what?
Do I have enough +dmg if I have only 3 DPS shammy team?
What more does my tank need to hold up better in Heroics? Got any easy to get gear suggestions for me?

There are a lot of people running heroics with 5 x Shaman, me included. I don't have a tank, nor do I have a dedicated healer. Trash in Ramparts & Blood Furnace is notorisly hard and the bosses are too easy.

Try making a macro on one of your characters to heal target of target. All 5 of my girls DPS but when I do need healing I use a modifier key on my Lightning Bolt spell. Eg F12 might be Lightning Bolt for all my girls, but Alt+F12 might be Healer Target of Target on one of my girls.

600 +DMG is ok. I think I started heroics with about the same. But if you are going to remove 1 DPS for healing and only have 3 DPS characters it might leave you a bit low on fire power. If you want a dedicated healer for heroics I'd suggest 1500+ healing.

Can you provide an armory link to your chracters?

Spec 1 Shaman to Resto, you'll want 1K+ and ideally >1200 +healing. You'll be pretty much chain casting your biggest heal to keep up btw.
Gem and enchant your Paladin's gear... a few slots have some quested/5man upgrades -- a good place to start is 12K+ unbuffed.
Then try heroics.

Ramps is imho one of the harder heroics (blood furnace too). Mobs hit _really_ hard in there. I'd suggest trying slave pens or bota first. (Mecha too, but these robos at the end can get really really hard for you).

You should be fine I guess, just put on blessing of kings on the pala (really, use kings and nothing else on him), put down agi + stoneskin and remember to stun melees with your tank.

Around 1k was when | started.

At the start of the fight spam r1 healing wave to get up af and then with your gear you will most likely have to spam max rank hw.

Do I have enough +dmg if I have only 3 DPS shammy team?

Worked for me.

What more does my tank need to hold up better in Heroics? Got any easy to get gear suggestions for me?

Get more stamina and more avoidance (I'd simply get more def, which will boost avoidance and also block, my pala is at 540 now).

kind regards

Don't be afraid to use your cooldowns. Pop your trinkets and bloodlust/heroism on pulls that are giving you a hard time. I would suggest trying out Mana Tombs or Slave Pens for heroics. There are alot of casters in Mana Tombs and grounding totems makes this a joke. The first boss in slave pens is pretty easy also.

I'm not an expert by any means but I have all 4 of my shaman set to cast a mid-rank Lesser Healing Wave on my tank as the target. I don't use /stopcasting on this macro so that I can spam it without it getting broken. This way I can basically top off the tank very quickly with little aggro gain or time spent.

It seems like you're getting ahead of yourself by going for heroics now - there's still a lot you can do first. You got the hard part out of the way - the PvP Gavel, but you're missing a lot of extra stats from gems/enchants on your gear.

A few items that would be an improvement:
- Extra defense trinket (+26 def from HFP Overlord quest, or +32 def from SL's Inciter) instead of Charm of Alacrity. 192 dodge is awesome, but it just doesn't help much in the long run for PvE in only 10s bursts.
- Get the libram from Sethekk Halls 1st boss. An easy kill for +47 Consecration damage. Easily the best tanking option until you can get the badges for +block rating for Holy Shield.
- Do the easy Shadow Labs quest for the tank bracers, or better yet, buy/make the Bracers of the Green Fortress - I just bought the plans on the AH for 600g on my server, but it took two weeks of checking before they were available. Run the SL first boss for the Platinum Shield of the Valorous.
- Buy/make the leg enchant - it's a lot of stam/agility you're missing out on. Agility also helps avoidance/armor.
- Buy/make the Delicate Eternium Band, do the BM quest for Andormu's Tear.
- Buy/make the Cloak of Eternity. If you know someone, the mats are relatively cheap - 6x Primal Earth + 6x Imbued Neth. Bolts.
- Keepers of time rep to Revered for Timewarden's Leggings.
- Scryer/Aldor rep to Revered for helm enchant - +dodge/defense is huge.
- Cenarion Expedition rep to Revered for tank neck.

Don't forget that boosting avoidance is always good, even if you don't have to worry about crushing blows. All those extra blocks, dodges, parries, and misses mean you're taking less damage. You'll still need plenty of heals, so don't worry about losing mana - swap in Seal of Wisdom when you need it. My pally is around 522 defense with ~59.5% avoidance before Holy Shield, and I haven't entered a heroic yet.
