Im so chuffed with myself.

Yesterday i did all the prequests, and today i got 4x Dreasteeds.

Doing the prequests was soulshatteringly boring, esp the 120 raging bloods i had to get, but i did it all and then bought the summoning items on only one lock.
Today, i took a trip to Diremaul, ran after pusilin, got the key and set the west wing alight. My standard pull tactic, was, Wand em in to me, engage all 4 felguards, and hellfire till theyre dead. its worked like a charm, even on the bosses ( im lvl 62 btw )

Doing the summoning quest itself was interesting to say the least. Basically, i set the fellguards on aggro, and then did preiodic hellfire's while my main was using the lodestone on the spell items. I managed to get the summon right the first time. Killing the horse was easy enough, and voila, all 4 locks now have 150 riding skill and a new cool mount.

2 Dreadsteeds were on my to-do list yesterday as well. I wasn't quite as successful as you were though - took me three attempts to succeed in keeping the summoning circle alive but got it done in the end. I had to make new macros to get demonic possession into my bag of tricks.

Messing around in all the old instances makes me concerned about movement and control in the new instances. Things like fear, knockback and mind control\charm can be a real challenge for a boxer.

120 raging bloods i had to get,

Man, I still have nightmares from that.

I was doing that just before the DB hogger raid. >.< Took for-ev-ar. Luckily though, there's nobody out there in winterspring so there was little fear of gankage on my PvP server.

I planned to do it in groups of three for DM-
Vyndryy has the mats to keep the various warlock summony things up
Went with group1: Vyndryy, Vyndre, Vyndrii, Jekuto (guild hunter -- tanked w/pet), Suvega (heals)
Went with group2: Vyndryy, Vyndrie, Vyndrei, Jekuto (guild hunter -- tanked w/pet), Suvega (heals)

And here's something interesting I found out -- you can SUMMON another warlock directly to the horse at the end and have them turn in the quest! All I did was kick out Jekuto and Suvega, summon Vyndrie and Vyndrei, and turn in the quest! So, it logically follows that you can solo-box ONE warlock with some guildy friends who help you out or whatnot, get the event done quickly with a bunch of 70's, then have them help you summon in the rest of your clones so they can turn the quest in before the horse despawns. :)

haha! I got three dreadsteeds yesterday, and planned to make a post about how agonizing most of it was, but was too wiped out to do so. The raging beast blood part of it did indeed suck ass. I think the worst part for me though was clearing through Dire Maul. I hadn't done DM since my main got her dreadsteed, probably two years ago, and never really made a habit of running it otherwise ... so I had to learn it at the same time I was itching to just get it over with, and that's a recipe for complete boredom and misery. I should've just dropped it 'til later, but I was focused on getting the horsies so couldn't resist pressing on. Fortunately DM doesn't respawn very quickly so even with a few wipes and a LOT of bouncing around looking for pylons, I eventually got through the damn thing. I was worried about Immol'thar but my toons are in starter Outlands gear now and dropped him without working up a sweat.

That's when everything became rosy. The dreadsteed summon is indeed one of the cooler fights in the game. TBC added some great boss fights and other events, but I think the dreadsteed fight remains in the top ten for me. It was a lot easier this time around than when I first did it. I enslaved the incoming felguards (had to write some Enslave Demon macros beforehand ... didn't have that set up yet!), set them to Aggressive, kept Rain of Fire and Consecrate burning, and blasted through it. One warlock died after an ill-considered Hellfire, but I rezzed him before the main fight and everything was cool. Got my horsies, got out, woot. Worth the pain of course, but still a bit painful on the whole.

I've spent a lot of today grinding dailies to set my priest up with his epic. He's the last of the five (pally was the first; and that quest was to the warlock version as a wicker basketful of kittens is to a crocodile gnawing your arm off), so when he's speedy, everyone else can be too!

That is what i did sort of. I was going the route of 3 locks, priest, and pally. I knew i could have taken the instance easy, but was worried about the summoning part. So i paid a healer and a tank 60g each to run me though the instance. I was going to solo with my lock, but was like i have 2 free open spots so why not just run them to get xp too. All i can say is that there gear sucked and got 1 shot each time. Well the healer and tank where not enchanters so they told me to need all the stuff to de it. Well after the summoning, they both started to run off i was like hey do you want your money (didn't want to be a jerk) they ran back to took it. Before i could say you guys can have the mats, they left the group so i was like cool. I got 100g worth of mats. So i only paid 20g for the run.
