Tips for Rogue + Priest! :)

So I got a rogue and priest to level 15 within 3 hours. But i'm having a little bit of trouble with survivability when killing higher level mobs. Such as good keybinds and whatnot. Currently I have it when i hit 2 (SS), the priest does Smite.

Bump I'm in the same boat.

What I have is the normal boxing macros, but I have one that first casts shields then renew. The other is my 'dmg' macro that does a swp, mindblast, then smite.

I'm only lvl 19s atm so I can't really say much passed that.

First of all bdm, I hardly think replying to your own thread will make any of us reply faster.
Second, I believe rogue+priest is a pretty unusual combo so there won't be many of us who can help you.
Third, the keybindings and macros are very individual but have a look at the wiki for some inspiration.

When boxing with different classes, you can't think about it as 'key 1 casts this spell'. You have to think of it as 'key one is my spam button'. Now, what spell do you want the rogue to spam? Which one do you want the priest to spam? Now you know what to put on your 'spam' button. You might even want to use /castsequence to SS 5 times then Evis on the rogue.

For healing, you will want a macro (/cast [target=Rogue'sName] Lesser Heal) and put the macro on the 'heal the rogue' key.

While you can multibox without macros, it is much easier if you take the time to learn and use them.

I did it this way (I took a priest + rogue to 60, before I ditched the priest for my paladin):

I made the top hotkey bar (the one you have to click) my rogue bar
I made the lower hotkey bar (that is bound to 1 through =) my priest bar

I made the following macros for the priest:
1: Target the rogue, follow the rogue
2: Target yourself
3: Assist the rogue

Then I put the spells on the rest of the keys. Could be however you like. I made one of them a macro to mount up, and follow.

So what I did was just click on my hot keys for the rogue, and use the numbers for the priest. I found that I didn't want my priest to spam all the time, I wanted him to throw a dot up, then be ready to heal. I found that much easier.

Rogue + Shaman = better combo. That being said Rogues kill fast enough I wouldn't even bother using the priest to DPS. Maybe through SW:p but for the most part I would think you would be better off using the priest as a heal-bot and let the Rogue do most of the work. With that combo you really should fly thru mobs even a few levels higher than you. As usual with a Rogue you want to avoid adds but if you focus on one target at a time you should have almost zero downtime with a Rogue + healbot.

Rogue + Shaman have good synergy together. Shaman compliments the Rogue well supplying heals, added DPS via the Shaman him/herself and the Windfury Totem, and utility. This combo is, imo, better than the Rogue + Druid combo. The Druid may also provide heals and buffs as well as added DPS, but their buffs aren't nearly as helpful as a Shaman's Windfury Totem. That's just my opinion as to the previous posters mentioning of it.

Servers are down and I'm bored, so I'd do something like this:

Rogue
Key 1: <empty>
Key 2: /cast Sinister Strike
Key 3: /cast Eviscerate
Key 4: <empty>
Key 5: <empty>

Priest
Key 1: /follow rogue
Key 2: /assist Rogue
/castsequence Shadow Word: Pain ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Key 3: /assist Rogue
/cast Shadow Word: Death (When you get it)
Key 4: /castsequence [target=Rogue] Power Word: Shield, Renew
Key 5: /cast [target=Rogue] Heal (or whatever heal you want)


This way you can spam 2 and the rogue will SS and the priest will cast SW:P once (Unless you spam the button too much). 3 for your finishing move, hit 4 twice to shield and HoT your rogue and 5 to heal him
