Heya guys

i was just reading through some guides here and stumbled upon something: all accounts must be in the same name. period.
so i was thinkinīdamn thats me getting a ban right there. the first account that i added to my box team was my brothers
cancelled account. i took it over, so to speak, as he was no longer active. as i added more accounts i put them in my own
name ofcourse :)

so we have the same adress (well not anymore, but thats still the listed adress) the same middle and surname
and im paying for all the accounts. will i have a problem?

i checked out and saw that i can change the name of the owner by calling their support. so i might do that if you
think im gonna get a ban.

thanks in advance

Calcifer

This has been very thoroughly discussed on these boards. I'm not sure how far along your team is, but if it's not too far you should seriously consider just replacing your brother's old account with a new account of your own. If you have a REALLY good story you MIGHT be able to get the name on the other account changed. But just telling them "oh my brother stopped playing and I took over his account, please change it to my name" won't cut it. Failing to take action to resolve this will almost inevitably result in the banning of your accounts, and not just the one not in your name! If your team is pretty low level, it's no big deal to replace one. Even if they're high level, with the RAF bonus you should be able to get a replacement up to speed pretty quick.

I had a billing agent at Blizzard say this about transferring toons between accounts. "The only thing that matters is the last name on the account and the address." While this is clearly against what is stated in the TOS, she told me this. I was astonished to hear it. To test her theory, I transferred toons from my sons account to my account. Blizzard doesn't know he is my son and the transfer went through. I wouldn't take this as cannon, however. Blizzard support is kind of like the airlines, keep calling back until you get the deal you want :/

Maybe make an RAF account in your name and try to transfer his toon to it. Kind of risky, but maybe worth a shot. Again it depends on how far along the toons you have are.

For transferring toons, that is the only criteria. But for multiboxing, it is more strict. It may be a good option to buy a new account in your name and just transfer your toon over, I don't see why that wouldn't work.
