hi

setup: keyclone, 1 machine, all working great, recruit a friend program
main: lvl 70, lvl 44 or lvl 30 - not linked
toon1 - linked with toon 2 and 3 - full account
toon2 - linked with toon 1 - full account
toon3 - linked with toon 1 - full account
toon4 - notlinked - full account

my question is regarding quest-xp. if i search i only find info to mob-xp. i have 4 toons, because of the recruit-a-friend-programm i have 3 with lvl20, one with lvl 13 and my my main (sometimes i use my lvl30 pally, my lvl44 rogue or my lvl70 mage.

I understand that if there is a lvl70 in the grp, there is almost no xp with normal grinding to get. But what about quest-xp? I thought that it doesn't matter that there is a lvl 70 in the grp when getting quest-xp.

Today i wanted to prove that and looked on wowhead what the xp for a normal quest in the barrens would be: "disrupt the attacks" = 900 xp.
The grp was as described before.
First i let toon 1 (linked with toon 2 via recruit-a-friend) turn in the q while in 5 man grp = got 360 xp
Then toon 2 left the grp to turn it in = got also 360 xp
Then toon 3 (q is still yellow, lvl 13) turned it in while in grp = got 900 xp.
Then toon 4 turned it in (now in 4man grp...) and got 360 xp.
Then i got myself a beer:)

So i have questions: how did i get from 900 to 360 and how is this linke via recruit a friend? I am in rested xo (blue) mode and in normal xp with the lvl13 char.

Can u give me some pointers or ideas on how to lvl as fast as possible to 70. ty in advance.
Should i leave the 70 out? Or does it matter when the q's are turned in?

Again, there is alot of info regarding mobxp but not much regarding quest-xp.

Now i will finish my beer and wait for some answers, ty!

If I'm reading your setup correctly, you have 5 accounts and A2/A3/A4 are all linked and A1 and A5 are not linked in any way.

The character levels on the accounts are:
A1: Level 70
A2: Level 20 ("toon 1")
A3: Level 20 ("toon 2")
A4: Level 13 ("toon 3")
A5: Level 20 ("toon 4")

Toon 1 did not receive triple exp, because he's linked to toon 3, who is lower level. You only receive triple exp if you are equal or lower than the linked character.
Toon 2 did not receive triple exp, because you only receive the bonus when grouped with a linked account, not solo.
Toon 3 received full exp because it's linked and grouped with toon 1, and lower level. Not sure why he didn't get 300%.
Toon 4 did not receive triple exp, because he's not linked to anyone.

Having a level 70 in the group has no effect on quest exp, only kill exp.

Ensure in the worldofwarcraft.com account management that your accounts are, indeed, linked. You can test it out by making new level 1 toons on all 5 accounts, grouping, and killing something. Toons on accounts 2-3-4 should receive a "+x from Recruit a Friend" message.

Thanks alot for your useful and swift answer to my question, as said, this is such a great forum - dual-boxing rules!

I still have some questions though. You are right, Account 1 and Account 5 are not linked in any way. Unfortunatley, because i live in non-EU-switzerland (where because of regulations issues rectruit-a-friend is not possible) i will not be able to link them. I got Account 2 from ebay and the address is still listed as a "not swiss-adress".

Anyway, that leaves us with account 2, 3 and 4. They are linked, upgraded with authentification key but i did not yet set up a subscription.

Maybe that is the reason for the missing triple XP. Any thoughts?

What did u mean by "+x from Recruit a Friend" message"? Combat log? Chat entry?
