View Full Version : Keyclone - not cloning keystrokes between EQ2 windows, x64 problem?

Hello.

I registered two copies of keyclone yesterday, one for my laptop (running Windows XPpro x64) and another for a spare home machine (Windows XPpro x32), for the purpose of tri-boxing Everquest II. However, I haven't been able to get two running sessions of Everquest II to share the same keyboard, even though connecting each of the running keyclone programs was successful (could see the tunnel, bandwidth/sec, etc..)

I tried today using just the laptop and running Everquest II in two windows. Ran keyclone, added both of Everquest II client windows and you can see the feedback cursor (just above the "Connect" button) scrolling back and forth as it intercepts the keystrokes. However, only the foreground window reacts to the keystrokes and the other does not.

Either there is something simple that I have overlooked, something possibly nefarious or incompatible with my setup?

Haven't tried anything complicated yet (keymaps, maximizer, etc...); just trying to get a basic two-window/two-machine from one-keyboard setup up going first.

Any ideas? Is there unique step that needs to be done to function on a 64-bit kernel? I've ruled out firewall/app filter/AV and run-as permissions issues, I believe.

Same problem with 32-bit windows, on my spare machine. Anyone have any ideas?

I used our nifty little forum search facility (http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=008057042136573243121%3A8oo5ucbwy-s) to look for the words "Keyclone" and "EverQuest" appearing in the same post and found several matches, including this (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=24684#post24684) which suggests Keyclone doesn't work with EQ / EQ2 due to the way the client processes input events.

There are far more threads than just that one, all of which come to the same conclusion - EQ won't accept input if it doesn't have focus.

As per Otlecs post - you will need to purchase innerspace - there is a nifty little guide ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=48859') written by Pyrostasis which shows you how to set it all up

Problem is - I understand that innerspace isn't exactly legal...hence why I have never used it - personally, I use a vetra to control my army - yes, that is a very expensive option

Good luck
