Well the priests have hit 50, started them 6 days ago so not to shabby for a week's work
what do you guys think, worst case i already have a 70 war and lock on another account so i could have a lock/priest and war/priest combo
wait a sec i have the veteran account and the rectuit at 50
can i give 24 levels to a new char on the vet from the recruit ?
and 24 levels on the recruit from the vet ?

As a 3+ yr veteran of Shadowpriestery... T6 raider and Season 2 3v3 Rival... don't do it XD
Shadowpriests are fun in PvP, but they die... really fast... Dots keep ticking after you're dead though T_T -- Dispersion looks to help a bit... but you can't kill anything while you're dispersed, so it's a blessing and a curse...
I may do 5 (4 more) anyway one day... but I'm crazy, don't listen to me!
To echo Deph, as him and I have played together for 3 years, don't do it.
Shadow priests are a joke to anything that melees, and when DK's hit in the expac you'll have yet another class that'll screw you over. Your dots will hit like a truck but you won't be able to do much else.
But, that said, if you want to try it then go for it. I've been playing a druid for three years and I know their strengths and weaknesses, yet I'm rolling with a 5 druid team right now just to try it out.
I have 3x70 Spriests, mostly S2 gear. BGs are fun but you cant rock them like a Shammy team can. Arenas you will lose to any team with rogue/rogues.
Rogues are the worst part of being a spriest atm, they resist everything you do including fears and will waste your guys even if theyre in crap gear. Most other classes you can do a MB & SWD combo to instagib unless you get a resist or they have unsually high HP. Hopefully dispersion and imp shadowform/fade will help in WotLK but atm dont bother.

As soon as a heavy duty melee player with any form of fear immunity gets to you, you're dead.
I messed around with a team of discipline priests, and they were fun for a while but ultimately they're just too squishy.

I was under the impression that disc priests were pretty tough for a clothy.
I personally would roll undead ones of course to help combat being feared.

Oh, they are! In much the same way as asparagus is pretty intelligent for a vegetable :D The problem is that there's no way to kill a heavy-hitting warrior / rogue before they kill you, even with gadgets like pain suppression and improved shields.
I actually didnt find warriors a problem, 1st fear is immune then second fear works. Dot them up & MB-SWD combo. Dead meat! its just classes that give lots of resists like locks and more so - rogues.

Shadow priests just explode in pvp, trust me. They hit pretty hard so they're always primary targets. I always get down to my two warlocks. Always.

Maybe I was unlucky with the guys I met. I had FOUR fears available, and rarely did any of them ever actually do anything.
More likely you were lucky though, to be honest. I don't really see why they'd only be immune to the first fear if they have recklessness, bezerker, death wish, WotF... erm.... and /or whatever other fear immunity toys they get. But then I know bugger all about warriors really except they killed my priests embarassingly fast if I couldn't get some distance or get blackout to proc.

Warrior has a 10 second fear immunity available every 30 seconds and a 30 second immunity available every 2 minutes. Undead also have another 5 second immunity.
In arenas, they will be using death wish against your priest, which means the first 2 fears will do nothing.
Oh, and a trinket.

In my experience, a shadow priest is the easiest class in a 2v2 situation. Fear is nearly useless as a CC because it can be broken so many ways. Any DPS class will outburst and out interrupt the shadow priest. This is why they are making priest fear a horror effect in WOTLK.

Oh yes, I should point out that official blue posts compared Shadowpriests to Prot Warriors in arenas.
A prot warrior or shadow priest or what have you should though be able to jump into a battleground or arena and be able to do something with some small amount of success. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=5286959896&pageNo=2&sid=1#22
That's when I gave up hope of my glory days at 60, melting faces, returning.

If I run into two SPriests on my rogue ('http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Akama&n=Shuri') I wouldn't even think twice about jumping them. And I'm PvE spec in PvE gear :)

well from getting them both to 50 i do have 50 grant a level's to give out.
i could start 2 shammies or 2 mage or 2 locks level them to 35 and grant them to 60
i would have a lot more luck with them in bg's i guess
that would work yeah or is that not how the grant a level thing works?

Yes.

No.
Only "recruits" can gift levels. Only "veterans" can receive levels.

Shammies are preferred by 4+ shammy groups due to their BURST damage.
If you don't have 4+ shammies, you generally can't insta-gib one of your opponents.
If arena PvP is what you're looking for, take a look at the common 2v2 comps that are doing well. If you just care about BGs, shammies should do fine, but you're not going to be insta-gibbing anyone.
