Hit 68 last night and did my first av. Reason i wait till 68 was for the fire elemental (which i didn't even use cause i forgot about it). Well i had the quest where i had to get the flag for the trinket to hearth you back to base. Well when i was going to that 2 people followed me, only 1 stayed the whole quest. I had to act fast because the alliance was really zerging and i had 6 people with me (my 5 and the other warrior). The warrior was pretty cool he wanted to see what i could do. so i clean out the place and warrior is telling me to just bubble and run to the flag to save time (but that might have been a wipe so i just kill mob by mob as fast as i could). As soon as i got half way i guess the warrior was getting bored so he starting rushing the other mobs and gathering them up. I was like WTF he is going to die and i am going to have them all on me. Well good thing the warrior was well gear case he lived (also 4 nova totems helped). Well got the flag and then start to head out. At this point i was marked as AFK (even though i was killing stuff i wasn't killing people, but that went away when i attacked). So alliance got the gy next to the base (not in the base), and i was like let me see if i can take it back... boy was i wrong i cannot take on 6 alliance that are well geared at lvl 70. So i killed 1 or 2 and i was dead. The warrior died too and was like lets go O. So i went to our 3rd gy (alliance now) and took that back. There where 3 alli there, and it was a little bit of a fight but i was able to take them down. Once i cap the gy a couple alli showed but i had my farm down and took them out quickly. The warrior that tagged along was a huge help, if he saw someone aoe me he would charge them to stop them and attack, 2/3 bolts later that guy was down. Only did one just to get the quest for the flag done, which basically put me on D. Now that, that stupid quest is down i will try O tonight to see how i do. Hell i might even zerg there 2nd gy... I know that i can cap gy no problem now and can hold them unless 4 toons come.

I also brought my pally (4 sham and pally), only brought her so i only had to do the stupid quest once. The pally was my leader and i thought that it would have made me weaker, but it didn't. Most of the people think that killing the leader kill MB. Well having my pally as leader everyone focused on her, which was great cause i could just keep focusing one that person attacking my pally (which could take the damage). My pally really didn't do anything except the once in a blue moon heal (also rezed the guys when they died). My shield toss helped too cause a hunter would try to take us on and after being hit "once" he was almost dead and try to run, throw the shield at him and blot him lol. I also lucked out that i was the leader so i was able to put my sham and pally in the same group, but that won't always be the case :(

So now i am thinking that i should bring my pally to all the AV with me. What do you guys think? I wouldn't bring the pally with the shams in eye or ab though. (Only doing bg at 68 till i get my dragon then off to grind to 69 then grind honor).

The paladin hardly adds anything exept for taking hits. Once you got some good pvpgear you can easily take the hits on your shamans and ask a healer to join you.

The partyleader of a premaded party who joined last get's leadership(not 100% sure about that). So asking the healer you bring with you to join when the pop up comes and notify you when a BG allready started allows you to wait untill the last 20 seconds to join and be sure you get leadership.

I never took my pally to AV really, cos I run 1 PC and I'd rather run a bit smoother with 4 than a little slower with 5. However I've had various people mention some of the benefits to bringing him along:

1) As already stated, he can take more of a beating and tends to get focussed cos he's the lead
2) If you can sort out a nice Blessing of Protection macro he can make the difference between life and death for your followers
3) A well timed Hammer of Justice lets you easily finish off a pesky rogue or priest who's about to fear the group (better for non shammy groups than shammies, but still nice).
4) AV is 80% PvE these days, so you've got a pocket tank if everyone else is pissing about, just rush in and take down the bosses yourself (maybe moreso when you are L80 ofc).
5) The buffs are a bit of a bonus, and as you already mentioned, he is able to res (always recommended rather than ghost juggling with alive and dead team members unless you are really close to the GY).
6) Crusader Aura - Really helps to get the jump on the opposition esp. in AV, where time is often of the essence.

The thing that makes me happy is that if i am doing pretty good in a 61-70 bg (where most people have s1/s2/s3 stuff) then when i do the 60-69 bg i will be ripping people new ones.

Yea that 2 second stun that the pally can do is a life saver. Al ot of times i stun a melee just to kill it in 3 seconds. I don't know how i did this, might have been a bug, but i stopped a rushing warrior with my stun.

Did a couple more AV yesterday. I am so surprised that i don't have any QQ on the forums :(
The worse part was the first 4 avs. OMG they sucked alliance won in like 15 minutes and i only took home 26 honor per battle (they zerged and won, capping all our towers and doing nothing to them). After the 4 avs i guess like the good horde came on. The next couple of battles i won about half of them (winning about 5 avs one would think that i would get a dragon on 1 of the 5 accounts.... wrong). I try to see what worked best for me team. I found that i couldn't play D at first. The reason is that the alliance would zerg and i couldn't take that many alliance at once at lvl 68 and undergeared. Plus it usually takes me 3 shots to kill a leather, so they could just run past me and i could only get 2 shots in. So what i did was i would run to bal (usually there is a tank and healer there just waiting for the dps), when i get there we attack her and kill her quickly. After that i then set up my totem farm between their town and gy and kill anyone that tries to go by. When there is a break between rushes i move up and continue that until i get to their other gy and cap it. The good part of yesterday is that i lead a couple of the charges taking there last gy. I found that all i needed was a good healer and warrior (healers when they see me and the damage i do, they usually stick with me and help me out). Warriors are good because they intercept the allies, which stuns them long enough for me to kill them. With a team like that i can usually take out about 10 allies at once. About 80% of the time my guys wouldn't die. When they do die it is because i get swarmed with like 10 allies and it is only me. I take out a couple. Or when i have 2/3 people aoe me, yes i know get out of the aoe, but when i have 3 melee attacking me it is sort of hard so what i do is usually kill the melle and usually die.

Also a note. If anyone has a pally and 4 shams, and don't want to bring the pally to av cause you think that the pally wont do anything. I think that you are wrong, there are so many times that my pally saves my life. Granted she is usually the first to die (mainly cause she is the leader, and we all know killing the leader means that MB are screwed lol), but her stun saved me ass a ton of time. What warrior would try to do to me is intercept me and try to fear my team, well for some reason i usually see the warrior right before he intercepts me and i get ready. I click on him and start spamming my stun. Sometimes i can stun him before he hits me and that stun is long enough to kill a warrior. One warrior was lucky to get into my group and fear me, but lucky i was in my farm and my guys only moved 1 inch (i wonder what the warrior was thinking, WTF the fear didn't work).

On a good note, i haven't seen or heard anyone talk bad about me in AV. I got a couple bots (like 3 the whole night, only at the beginning of av before it starts). But i usually got the "OMG yes the multiboxer is here" or "cool it is the pally and 4 shams again, do offense again" and a couple cheers. I am not on the top of the dps list but 2 of my guys is always in the top 10, and i am always pro active so i also think that helps. I usually don't response to any whispers or bg talk. The reason is that i have to stop moving hit pause on keyclone type and run again. I know that there is another box OX on my battleground. We should try to get into some av sometime and just own.

I just started doing AVs too, and one thing I noticed which i found just insane was ziz..

me on my own (crappy gear) can be steamrolled by a small group (3-4) if they have a rogue with them (providing they have S2 gear or higher).. they are soo freaking annoying :S

Me+ healer = 5-7 dead depending on their gear lvl and skill
Me + 2 frost mages = invincibility against all except lots of rogues

from now on i always ask one of my mage friends to tag along and CC everything that gets near :) Pet novas on groups of enemies = easy pickings :)

yea melee is a pain, but what i did to those guys is i mapped 4 nova totems to 1 key when a rogue or 2 melee get next to me i drop all 4 at once (i lose wrath but it is worth it in the end). It does enough damage to the rogue (even s2/3) to have them back off a little and think twice (Thank you so so so much ellay for this). I also have another key that drops 4 grounding totems to stop those casters (i drop 3, but also drop wrath of air, so i lose the air but i think it is worth it). Best part about grounding is that you actually see the spell hit the totem, which tells you there is a clothie that is close enough that wants to die in 2 hits...lol. Another good thing about grounding is that it does seed.

Does anyone know if grounding does fear too (single target fear from warlock)
