I know this might be more fitting for the hardware forums, but I really thought people ought to see it regardless.

I ordered my 4-port PS/2 multicaster today. While placing the order, the guy I was talking to asked what application I would be using for (he even offered WoW multiboxing before I could answer). He also asked if I heard about them on here (which was also correct). Anyhow, he was running a few things by me, mostly as ideas since they have a few new products coming out in a number of months. They didn't make any promises about devices features, but I made some suggestions that, if they implement their devices with one or two more features, that will allow (hardware) multiboxers to basically have easy mode at multi-class group boxing.

Like I said, no promises were made. But at least one employee knows about the concept. Basically, they were talking about making a KVM / multicaster combo. I added, which a brief explanation of game mechanics, that a "broadcasting blackout" feature would be neat. Basically, you could easily (although this would be up to someone else to implement) configure which machines on the KVM / broadcaster would NOT receive the broadcasted input. This way, you could configure a tank / healer separately from the rest of the group so that one could more easily design the macros on those characters without concern for what the DPS would be doing otherwise.

I realize that there are people out there perfectly able to handle a traditional group without the help of such devices, but I still thought it appropriate to mention the concept since Vetra is a rather forward-thinking company. Nice people, too.

Remember - no promises were made. At all.

As much as I love their stuff (and I have probably more of it than any single customer should have) they have been making promises for a lonnnnng time. I will believe it when I see it.

That said, I do hope they update their offerings to cater to multiboxers.

I wrote vectra just now, suggesting they stop by and ask us what our needs are, or what would be useful. If the above is true this is a nice direction for hardware boxers. But on the other side of the coin there's a lot of other things we could need/use it would be nice to form a list and see what they could do.
