For the longest I used Ubuntu to play wow on but the fact that boxing over 3 clients on my pc was highly unstable because of my ATI card I finally made the push to my Windows Dual boot side. But after about a month of boxing carefree on my computer if I try load more then one client of wow it says cannot load 3d acceleration to please reinstall drivers or Direct X such and such version.
I shut down my game then come back on today to find Windows XP is stating that whenever I load WOW that wow.exe and my config.txt is corrupt and reloads the WOW defaults. I can now only run one version of WOW on one of my two pcs and my second pc cannot handle over two clients. I did a formal wipe and reinstallation of wow that did not work and I then fixed my computer with a fresh ghost image and reinstalled wow but yet it is doing the same thing. I can no longer run more then one client of wow on my primary computer so anyone have any tips on what this could be. Yes I swapped out my ati card with an older Nvidia one which still gave me the same results. I checked for memory leaks and even a faulty Hard Drive swapping out and still nothing has worked. Its been nearly 4 days since I have beeb able to box.
lol thought this was gonna be a morality topic.
Morals? on the boxing forums? GTFO

Just out of curiousity, what piece of software were you using to clone keyboard input? I've been searching my ass of, but I can't seem to find any program that does the job.

So you have one PC with one account, and a second one with 2 accounts? Are you using any kind of soft or hardlinking to share Data and WTF directories? Maybe it's a problem with 2 wow instances trying to write to the same file? Maybe post a screenshot of the exact error. Also, check if you have write permission in the installation directory, although I suspect that this isn't the problem :).
Oh, and one other thing, you could try posting it on the official wow support forum. It doesn't really sound like a multibox specific problem to me, can't be sure ofcourse.

Occasionally, both before and after multiboxing, my mpqs corrupted. Simply run repair.exe in the wow folder and voila, yer back up and running ;p
@Blubber
The OP is stating that he Multiboxed via a Windows Dualbox,, There is nothing like Keyclone yet for Linux.
I've been hardware boxing in Linux for some time off & On. If I could make ventrilo work correctly in linux, I'd never load windows.

i like to make my life simple when it comes to keeping things orderly... backup everything once a month.. and do a wipe...
once you get used to what files you need such as macros and such... you can just create a new wow image.. and add the basics into it.. fixes any problems every time!
also clear reg entries, there are many topics about it on official forums on how to.

I used Synergy until I figured out keyclone worked as well in Linux under wine. Just have to set the setting to emulate windows 4.0 network edition. Linux does not really like ATI cards as the drivers they create for linux sucks at the moment and the custom ones created by the community are not right now much better. It is why Nvidia is the widely reguarded 3d card of choice for linux. Today the game worked fine so I do not know what the problem was. I will goto the normal wow forums and see if I can prevent this from happening again. I do not know why it even stopped working then the problem went away. It annoys me when I cannot figure out something and just goes away on its own.
If I had not invested so much into the new ATI card I own I would go out and get a Nvidia card just so I did not have to load windows ever again. It does not seem stable of an enviroment to run multiple clients of wow on if you are boxing under one computer but Linux boxed on multiple PC's would be my number one choice.

if nVidia is so defacto a card to use with linux and you are so big on linux why did you bother with the ATI card?
I hate Vista too and disabled 90% of the "features" like the windows firewall, windows defender and UAC. But I have no complaints about my ATI 4870 card, it seems to run better than my nVidia 8800GT that I have on my other PC. ( it is supposed to be a faster newer card so it's to be expected ) I don't really have any pros or cons for either video card. They both seem to work equally well on Vista x64. I did have to do the adjustment to the fan control on the ATI and set the fan speed to 35% so it runs at a nice 50C idle and 55C running two copies of WoW. Don't knock the card for your choice of operating system.
