I just found this site on sunday and it inspired me to pull out some of the old systems and try my hand at multi-boxing on Vanguard:Saga of Heroes.

So far, I am just dual boxing, but I have parts to bring a third system up on the way.

My current setup is using Voice Command to control the second character for just about anything I do. I also run Ventrilo on my main system and have a PTT button on the mouse to activate that.

My idea is to find a way to broadcast my PTT to toggle OFF the Voice command for periods that I am talking on Ventrilo. I also need to be able to broadcast or relay the mic input from my second box to the third when it arrives.

Any ideas as to how this could be done?

To get your mic output to the third PC, have you considered chaining the audio?
Mic plugged into mic input on PC1
output from PC1 ->line input PC2
output from PC2 ->line input PC3

As far as broadcasting a keystroke that is being generated by a mouse button to toggle PTT/Voice command. There are several software key broadcasters available. One the is popular is KeyClone. Which you will find links to in the software section. I currently use this for gameplay keys, and for my PTT in ventrillo.

I am an active 5 boxer in Vanguard on the Xeth server, and would enjoy hearing about your setup. I've never considered using Voice command before, I multibox mixed classes and with how complicated vanguards combat system is, would have a hard time keeping the names for all the actions, reactions, rescues, chains, buffs etc... straight. So please share more details about your game play style too as your project comes together.

(Xeth server, Erron and the Followers of Erron (FoE) Paladin, Cleric and 3 Sorceres. Currently considering adding a 6th box.)

Its good to see another VG player!

I was considering chaining the audio, but didn't know if there would be too much "crap" from going thru all the connections like that.

I have looked at keyclone, but never set it up for use yet because I didn't know if it could braodcast the mouse 4 button or not. I will try this today.

Currently I am dualing two Druids on Seradon. When my parts for the third box get here, I am going to have both druids on voice command, and run a healer class on my main box. (undecided on the healer yet)

As far as the command list for the druids, here is what I have so far at level 10:

Self: Target self
Two-Six: Target respective group member
Strike: cast lightning strike
Root: cast Piercing Roots
Heal: cast Soothe
Thorns: cast Venomous Thorns
Summon: cast Summon Earth Elemental
Solar: cast Solar Flare
Snare: cast Ensnare
Chase: targets main box character, then /follow
Grab: /endloot; /lootall; /loot; /targetnextcorpse
Speak: send {Tab}; send "h" (used both for speaking to NPCs and target cycling in combat)

Self Explained commands:
Sprint
Assist
Jump
Right (Turn right 90 deg.)
Left (Turn left 90 deg.)
Walk (move forward ~1 meter)
Back (move back ~1 meter)
Turn (Turn right 180 deg.)

I have a feeling that this setup wont be able to last too long however.
As you can see, some of my commands dont have the "normal" names associated with them, such as my loot command. I had to do this because my computer was getting confused and would cast the wrong spell, or just start to do undesired things.

I know that I will need a larger list of commands once I start getting higher in levels, as there is no way that I can imagine having enough voice commands for my 35 BloodMage, and I am sure that all the classes have just as large a selection of abilities.

Any more insight as to how you currently have your setup would be a great help. I am planning (finances permitting) to get a total of six boxes up an running within half a year.

Well, I have dropped VoiceCommand for the time being, and am using KeyClone and Synergy to run my Tripple-Box setup.

I use both because I use the screen lock on Synergy to transfer full control between machines when I need to, and KeyClone for broadcasting my hotkeys. I know that Synergy has a broadcast version too, but I only want to pass the Numpad, 1 - =, and SPACE keys, and couldn't figure out how to make a "white list" on Synergy.

So far I'm doing alright, even did a Storehouse run in Rindol Field this morning. I started all new characters for this setup so that I could group them all right away instead of having to grind them up individually.

I play on the Seradon server as Elthos(Cleric), Elthis(Druid), and Elthes(Druid).

I currently play VG on Seradon server as well, I m not using any special dual box software, I used Synergy tho I hated the mouse issue that I keep getting.. currently I run a monk on the main machine, I use Nosmo n50 pad on the second machine to control the shammy its been working for me pretty well..

I would like to find a way to send g15 key macros just to the secondary box as for buffing and opening dotting.

I have changed my setup a little, trying to focus more on getting to raid level to participate in that (Not to multi in it though, not yet at least)

Anyway, I am currently only dual-boxing, and changed my characters around a little. I dropped the cleric and one of the druids for the time being.

My current lineup is my main Elesar (35 BloodMage) followed around by Elthis (23 Druid).

Elthis is leveling extremely well, with the aid of Elesar, my brother Nieger (23 Sorcerer) and my friend Zheyla (25 Disciple). But once I get in range to have Elesar actually in-group with the rest, it will be on then :D (Vanguard has a 6 level grouping cap if you want to gain exp)

Current setup consists of two systems, both running KeyClone with whitelists for numpad, the number keys, and the f1-f6 keys, along with "f" for assisting and spacebar for clearing obstacles.

I have considered getting an X-Keys control, but cannot decide what all I want (either Pro or Desktop), or how I would implement it yet, just have to plan a bit more.

I am looking into upgrading my network to Gigabit for improvements with overall latency (I run a fileserver for a WAN, so my bandwidth gets a bit of use) and will be getting a better internet package once this contract is up.

As far as your problem Azorel, KeyClone sends key input at a low level, so theoretically, you could send exactly what you wanted to the second computer, and as long as you don't have anything bound to those keys on the main, then you would be set. But, I'm not all that familiar with the G15 or sending anything other than standard key-presses with KeyClone, I don't even have any modifier keys(Shift, Alt, etc.) that I broadcast with my current layout.
