Yay had my first weekend of commited boxing !!! Just a general rant at my first boxing experience

Been working on the autohotkey script for a week and figuring out what class i wanted to 2x box.

On friday i ditched the 2 mage because i was not enjoying them and started 2 night elf priests.

(night elf so i can do the invisible rogue thing for pvp and when i afk because im on a PVE server) i also like priest because at 70 i can have one for shadow and one for healing and raid on them separatly. Im not sure i hope i can do battlegrounds on them and own face a bit.

So rolled them and leveled to 9 in darnassus then got a summon to SW i decided not to do DM because it takes so long (i do have a t6 lock to boost them when needed)

Went to westfall and quested to 19 took a few hours but quite easy i know the quests there.

At 19 I jumped on the lock and did stockade until 23 or 24 which was easy as my lock does stoc in 3 pulls (at this time i did not know there was a question about boosting).

After this i installed quest helper and that was a revalation instantly my favourite mod!! i dont hate questing anymore!

Went to to wetlands quested untill 26-27 and then off to duskwood to get to 30 late last night.

15 hours played and i left it logged in while i went to lunch etc. I think i will take them to SM tonight and see how many levels from 30 i can boost them in there i cant rember the level range of SM or how long it takes my lock to clear it. Generally i just want to make the time spent in STV minimal because i wont have the lock with me and that will be a gank fest.

I assume i will get to late 30 this way hopefully 38 tonight depending how it goes, i think i will quest from there untill 50.

At 46-50 hit up BRD like a mad man with the lock untill 58 or close to 58 at which point i will by the xpac and go to outland and quest, no boosting (ive got experience on speed runs in BRD and can clear most of it under 15min - i will do this weither the current boosting xp is working or not)

Atm it seems to be better leveling using holy damage spells on the priests the shadow dots and the 7 second cooldown on the instant damage spell does not seem to be boxing friendly.

When would going shadow on the priests be a good idea? and what is a good cast rotation on a priest for shadow?

Also, is there a good instance for boosting a bit of the gap between 38 - 50 ?

Thanks for the help..

Will keep you posted.

I'm not a fan of leveling multiple shadow priest, simply due to the fact that they seem designed to require spirit tap in order to level efficiently and you can't proc spirit tap on more than one priest at a time. If you feel like doing the whole drinking after every other pull thing, then it should go alright though.

Decent boosting instance for 38-50 is Zul'Farrak and ST.

Shadow Priest in a group won't have mana issues after L50 though thanks to Vampiric Touch...

Shadow Priest in a group won't have mana issues after L50 though thanks to Vampiric Touch...I kind of figured that you'd kill things way too fast in a group for VT to help with mana recovery. Have you leveled a group of spriests before? I'm planning on leveling some priests eventually, but was going to just keep them holy, but if you have actual experience with it I'll try shadow instead.

When I leveled my solo priest, VT sucked for mana and was generally just used for dps. VT never shined unti I was raiding.

I aggree that VT sucks for mana solo. I would imagine that a team of priests though could top off a mana bar with VT and a MF from each, that will be a decent amount of mana returned and could be enough damage to kill something. SWP is pretty expensive and is probably not worth casting once you get VT, so mana usage may go down a little bit as well.

I have always been curious how people go about leveling priests without spirit tap going on, after 50 it seems manageable, before 50 though seems like it may have some down time.

I was having doubts about my shadow priest for quite a while and almost swapped it out for another class.
It seems to be providing a lot more benefit in instances now though. (priest is 70).
I don't ever have to stop the group for mana when combined with the Shamans totems.
