When you grant levels, the toon you grant to will keep their exp bar at the same place as it was the previous level. That means that if you get a new character to 19 bars full at level 1 and then grant them up to 59, they'll be only 1 bar from 60!

Are you then 60 with 19 bars in? With full rest xp you could go to 62.5 before it slowed down.. if that's the case

Confirmed - Your XP bar stays at the same % when you Grant Levels.
I have a level 25 druid that i have been granting levels to from 1 from my 3x Mage team and I thought about this same thing the other night but I just though that i had gained XP on the druid from being summoned and discovery XP. I read this and decied to confim it. Here are my results
@ lvl 25 XP Bar 7116/28900 25% ( actually 24.62%)
granted 2 levels back to back
lvl 26 7509/30500 25% ( Actual 24.61%)
lvl 27 7927/32200 25% ( Actual 24.61)

I insta-leveled a pally yesterday from level 1 to 59. 58 clicks and it was done.

My current plans are to level a 4 box of warlocks to 60... that will give me 30 levels on each of two accounts to gift... and since my shaman just hit 60 I've already got 30...
I don't overly enjoy leveling druids or hunters and don't want them for multiboxing, so I intend to gift one of each to 60... this is indeed good info, kill a few lowbie mobs and get to 99% of a level completed and then gift away.

I was under the impression that a character couldn't receive more than 30 gifted levels. I'm assuming from the above "I insta-leveled a pally yesterday from level 1 to 59. 58 clicks and it was done." that this is not true. Can anyone else confirm?

Yah, ummmm, don't waste your gift levels on a level 1 character. Take a couple hours and level them to 20 or so. Be pro, don't be a noob.

30 per character then.
Not 29?
I'm not surprised there's so much confusion when reality differs from the information posted by Blizzard, which specifically says (or SAID, when I last looked on Friday!!)..... 1) you lose your giftable (sic) levels at 60, so get rid of them before then (debunked in this thread), and... 2) You get 29 levels because you don't get a giftable level for dinging 60 (debunked in this thread)!

:rolleyes:Oh, maybe it's 29 per character. I was confirming that you can gift the same character with multiple toons up to 59 or 60 (not sure yet), but either way it's going to be a box from the next level however high it gets to.

I'll be doing some from lvl 1 though, just don't have enough space for characters on the main accounts to boost more than a few anyways ;)

Why would you want to gift a character from 1 to 60 anyway? You can get into the mid 20s in a couple of hours using the RAF XP bonus, it would be a crying shame to waste approx 25 gift levels on the bottom end of any new toon. As a bonus, your newly levelled 25 has 12 gift levels of it's own which, once you've gifted it to 60, it can bring a level 48 to 60 too.
A little forward planning in exactly how you grant those gift levels shows up some surprising possibilities. Levelling/boosting the easy part and then gifting up to 60 provides even more high level gifting. The Vet accounts can get a surprising number of 60s in short order.
My plan involves levelling 3 seperate quad teams to 60 (one is there already) and using cascading gift levels/low level boosting to raise a further 3 (or more) 60s on each of my vet accounts.
Why am I doing this? To be honest I have absolutely no idea, but I'm finding the questing up of quad teams amazing fun.

another thing to consider is rep for toons. lvl 1-10 is where most toons get honored rep for their home area. this allows decreased training , mounts , and repairs. at 3 times exp quest turns , I would reccomend lvling toons to 30 then gifting from that point to 60 as needed

Huh. So each account can recruit up to 5 friends, right? So couldn't you buy a new account, RaF 4 friends with trial accounts, level all 5 toons to level 20 (where the Trial Accounts stop) and then have the 4 trial accounts gift 10 levels each (40 total) to the new account, dinging them to 60?

So your level 20s could not gift past level 20.

Can anyone clarify how many levels you can grant from a RAF'd account? IE, is it only 34 from one character, and the 2nd or 3rd characters cannot grant levels?

I thought about this a lot, but I determined that there's absolutely nothing I could want out of another random level 60 sitting on my account. Gifting one toon to 59 or 60 is all I want to do. If someone gets obsessed enough with granting levels, they might as well rush as many 5 box teams as humanly possible up to 60 and grant as many new toons to 60 as the game will allow. There has to come a point where you think about what you'd going to focus on in this game. I am going to focus on 5x shaman and a pally, which I already have taken care of so saving 20 levels for more gifts is just a waste of those hours of time.

RAF: Gifting Levels ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=104613#post104613')
Here's what I can confirm... (just did it)
Referred account - level 60; level 31
Veteran account - level 27
Level 31 gifted level 27 FOUR levels to level 31.
Veteran account gifted level 31 (formerly level 27) TWENTY-NINE levels to level 60.
Fact: You can gift more than 29 levels to a single character
Fact: You can gift levels from more than one character on the "referred" account
Fact: You can gift levels even if the gift giver is over level 59
Fact: The "ding" animation happens as you gift. Very fun to do in the middle of Stormwind. Make sure to announce "ding!" every time it happens. ;)
Hope that clears things up. :)

I'm even doing a fair number of collection quests. The 3x XP just makes it such an enjoyable experience since it's like 'Whoops, ah well, I guess I leveled out of this area' instead of 'Gah done with all the quests, guess I'll have to grind Boars for 3 hours before I can go to STV...'.
I just wish it was easier to train new skills and spells. I think I spend more time doing that than questing...

It's not a big deal considering 59-60 at 300% xp is like 3-4 quest turn ins. :D Either way, it would take me just as long to get from 95% into 30 as it would 95% into 59.

I AoE grind all chars to lvl 31 before they get gifted lvls :). 1-40 with a mage can be done in 6hours with 300% exp. It is quite possibly the best thing ever. Having lvl 40s who have never trained and still have the starting gear on = priceless.
