Ya know the amusing thing is I have an unopened press copy of EQ2 sitting in the tin box on my shelf...

It came around the time WoW went retail if I recall correctly, maybe it was just after I got into beta... either way it worked out that I never cracked the tin since I had no real interest.

Only doing 5 this time, friend is going to duo the thing with me.

Rerolled there to play with friends. Also new broke players can't pvp on a pvp server. That is with out investing a couple months of crafting to make money or doing a lot of RMT (Real Money Trade) Per Character. There's a long winded answer on why, but i'm not in the mood. Just trust me can't be done.

The cliff note answer is: End game there isn't much for players to do. So they make twinks. This is where the entire server plays is in these lower brackets. All the players . So basically you reach 10 levels and your now at end game PVP. Which requires 200Plat per toon to gear out.

To give you an idea how powerful twinks are compared to wow the best match up would be a level 1 vs. a 60 in wow, only the level 1 is naked and the 60 is geared. It's that bad. So bad in fact 6 toon's focus firing on a single twink using all there mana can take away almost 10% of their health.

It's like being naked in the 51-60 battle ground only you’re naked and level 1.

The game is very gear based, more then any I’ve played. So I decided to go the PVE route to enjoy the game. The longest duration I've latest without getting ganked was 5mins, and I’m not making that up. And by ganked I mean a single player kills them all, fighting back might shave off 2-9% of their health before it's a wipe. :roll:

Planning on multiboxing a few characters in EQ2 when I get my new PC later this week. However, I'm playing on The Bazaar because I think the PvP in this game is pretty terrible (for the same reasons you described above) and on that server, I can sell off excess (read: most/all) of my money for real cash legally. Easy way to pay your subscription fees every month!

PvP in EQ2 is very flawed, yes. It was added way after release, and never caught on too much, so the people playing it, are the people playing the twinks, who obviously like the current system. So it's not likely to be altered too much, though they're making small changes now and then to cut back on the twinks power.

But the PvE is so fun anyway, who needs PvP? :)

I have a nice 3 box setup going now in EQ2, not the easiest to get going but once you get there it's not bad.
