I have a 5box team with 4 shammy and a Pally. The paladin has bought the Merciless Gladiator Gavel with honor but nothing else. He now has about 18k honor and 2k arean points. Is there any PvE or PvP gear worth getting for the pally?
In BG and arena he just sits there casting consecreation while the 4 shammy do the DPS. I use the shammy as a tank in instances, but bring him into BG and Arena just so he can control the other Shammy and also get free honor. So now, how do I spend this honor for a pally tank`?

PVP rewards suit shaman much better than a pve paladin (except for the +spelldmg weapon), so if you intend to use the items for pve, I'd just save my honor points and upgrade the weapon when WotLK pvp rewards come out. If you would insist on using them, you could buy a trinket or perhaps neck/ring if you don't have better?

I don't arena with mine. I got my palies +def to 495 and needed other avoidance stats as well as more armor and HPs.. so I'm using the merc chest.. it has way more stam and armor than any of the non-raid chests I could get. So I gemmed it up to add more avoidance.

As a side note. In WotLK ill probably tank as ret. Bliz has stated that any of the tank class specs( warriors+fury or arms..any DK tree..ret..ect) will be able to tank non heroic instances fine. In fact they have even said that Hunters pets ( Bm spec with tank type pet and pet talents) Could tank non heroics. For Heroics you will need to be tank speced and equipped. But for leveling.. Ret will be way more fun! That being said. I'm saving my points, IF bliz announces a "reset" of honor points before WotLK goes live. ill spend all the points on ret gear. IF not Ill save it for level 80.

I went with the gavel/shield then started picking up honor/arena healing set peices for the Paladin since that's all I do in BGs / arena with him (pewpewpew on the shams of course). I tend to not spec out of protection either; just toss on the healing set and go from there. In a mix of s2/s3 + honor stuff I found that the paladin runs OOM as prot spec about the same time all my shaman are OOM as well - and at that point I figure if the other team's not dead I am screwed even if the paladin could have tossed out another chunk of heals with a better spec.
