View Full Version : The only reaction I've had so far to my multiboxing:

People dropping everything they're doing for 5 minutes. They'll be grinding mobs, doing quests, whatever, and they see me and just stand in place for a long time. No whispers, no spam. Just body-crippling amazement apparently. I was hoping at least one of these guys who call me a hacker, but no. They watch me complete the entire quest before they so much as take another step. I can just imagine them in guild or whispers talking about the crazy thing they just saw. :D

If I had to guess, I'm going somewhere around

70% Cool, WoW, or just LoL
10% who say they can't afford 4 accounts
10% curious how it's done
5% curious how it's done because they think I'm hacking or selling characters

a few random followers who don't say anything.

And a single level 11 who called me a "loser" in between challenging the level 6's in brill to duels.

I'm sure I'll get all of that good stuff when I take them into more populated areas. I should mention that the most populous city I've hung out in is The Exodar.

I go to SW to check the AH, and I park my 4 shammies in formation outside the AH while I enter with my pally to look up goods. When I exit to gather up the group, there's usually a lot of curious Alliance circling the shammies. :)

Just body-crippling amazement apparently. Most people can't continue to play, if they are submitting a ticket. Think of how many of those people are typing a letter to a GM, trying to get you banned, OMG

I actually had a guy roll a horde toon just to ask me about how its done and how he can get started after I'd killed his main about 10 times in AB.

I was in Org a few days ago with my shammy team setting up some macros to have a fellow Horde stop by and pay me a few kind words... I think they were something along the lines of "Hey loser get out of your parents basement!"

"Hey loser get out of your parents basement!"

lol i would have responded with "I wish i could, really, but the rent is really cheap. Plus the extra bonus is that she cleans my tighty whitties"

lol that reminds me when i was watching ellay in his first public arena he was talking about tighty whitties :P

Yeah about 70% say nothing and just follow me around

20% undeserved insults like how I'm a loser, I have no life, how $60 is so much money and I'm wasting it, and how pathetic I am. Some even have the audacity to send me entire paragraphs in whispers about how pathetic I am, just out of the blue.

Then about 10% of the time it's "cool" or "nice quad box"

Just curious.
I'm on a PvP server and have only had one "loser"

How many of you that are hearing it all the time are on PvE servers vs PvP?

On Firetree Ally I get a lot of "wtf" and "bots" and "hacks" and a few "lol" - I usually try to tell them it's not a bot, it's legal, etc... and to come here but it often falls on a deaf hear. I wonder too how many are reporting me :-) so far I haven't heard from GMs :-)

On Mag it's all good and ppl don't say anything or just hi. Once I had only 1 toon out to catch up on xp and I got "A zerg alone?" :-)

The most common thing I hear on the forgotten coast is "What the Fuck?"

I get the occasional guy that starts spamming botter. depending on the attitude of the person i will either try to convert them to the dark side, or i will just tell them to report me if they feel that i am breaking any rules and to see if i get banned or not. That works really well most of the time for the people who do not want to hear it from me. And of course everywhere I go I se WTF popping up in the chat.

I'd say it's about 70% silent bewilderment, 15% CHEATER!! and 15% say "holy crap, that's awesome, mad props!"

I'm on a pve server with I think maybe 1 other boxer, but tons of people I know dualbox.

Folks have been quite positive in Baelgun (PvE, Alli side). Haven't had any abuse, tho 'we' don't hang out in town too much. About the worst was a guy who rushed ahead to try to grab Goldtooth for the quest and aggro-ed basically the entire mine. We tried to heal him but it was too late... then we killed all of the mobs he aggro-ed. :D

My team has a pally, mage and a drood in it tho and I buff anyone who rolls by with kings, mark and int (easy macro). I think that helps. ;)

Had a 70 call me a fag. Didn't know multiboxing was an indicator of sexual preference.
Had someone last night announce to trade chat that "the jaese multiboxer has hit 49 *clap*". Wasn't sure how to take that lol.

People following me is a pet peeve of mine, so when this green con BE Paly started following me in Gadget and continued to follow me outside away from the guards, he received a facefull of EM CL. Overkill but I think he learned his lesson.

my expriences thus far have been some what upsetting and not expected

i mostly get ppl who drop what they are doing and follow and dont say a word
lasts about 5 to 10min

then i get the haters, one guy told me i was "fail", others sure enough, call me a loser, someone who has no life, no gf, and plays wow all day long.
my answer to that is i play wow just as much as you except im' talented enough to play 5 toons at the same time

on the whole. i'm getting what looks like alot of frowns, ppl who think what i'm doing is exploting the game, and degrading it.
myelf i'm really enojying it although i'm dying alot more than i would if i was playing solo.

often in combat my toons stop assisting and when u tell them to they simply dont, but when fight is over and all is outa combat then they follow and assist no problem. its like sometimes the combat is so intensive keyclone or multiboxer messes up.

on the multibox greay box, my toons turn fight when they should be green, i tell them to re-assist but they simply dont. puzzles me.

Yea, the irony is thick that twinks can curse out other people for ruining the bg's.

Yea, the irony is thick that twinks can curse out other people for ruining the bg's.God I hate twinks, I've skipped the battlegrounds entirely before the 60's on every toon except my first, because I hate the gdamn twinks. BGs were fun when taking a break while leveling. Queues took like 25 min or more at lower levels, and you could even forget about being in queue, get in the middle of a quest and bam, time to hit WSG. Then twinks ruined it. I feel really bad for new players who don't stand a chance in hell in BGs till mid 50's or even outland.

Okay, I've taken the team into the big cities now, Shatt included, and I've gotten nothing but positive comments. One guy begged me to join his guild because I would be a "good conversation piece".

You guys ever get people who don't release spirit for like 5 minutes after you kill them in world pvp? I get the feeling they are typing up a GM report

I found a way to make them release early though. I have everyone cannabalize, or I sit on their face with all 4 toons. People hate that
