Stupid non-traditional group makeups...!!

My partner and I got whacked down to 1601 rating because of a slew of non-traditional comps. Here's our least favorite that racked up 3 wins against us:

Mage
Mage

Rogue
Druid

We never saw them coming-- The mages just went invisible and popped up in the middle of the shamans, 2-3 seconds of arcane explosion spam and we were toast. We've also met a couple of Healer plus 4 melee DPS teams where it was 1 shaman and three 2H-wielding bastards. Just too much burst on the WF procs for my poor little druid buddy to handle...


On the flip side, we finally have the hunter/priest "drain team" down pretty well. Just gotta take out the hunter first, just like Ellay says... :)

tell me about it, we lost 50 points in 2 games against a low 1400 team...

setup:
- firemage
- disc priest
- resto shaman
- arms warrior
- enh shaman

both shamies on the AE offencive with tremors up, combined with a power infused AE happy mage ... for once, mortal strike wasn't my main concern

at least we won 17 points back the next 2 games we matched against them

came across 5 shaman last week, all individual players, tried doing the searing totem trick Ellay mentioned but as they move across the bridge dropping groundings i knew it was going to fail. I LoS them at the end behind the post with searings at the top in the hope they would deal with the groundings and i could twat them as they came into LoS but it didnt happen. ;/ Finsihed the day with our highest rating though on 1619 so getting there slowly. Also beat an 1815 ranked team which was nice, they went down very quickly, very crap compared to some of the lesser teams we have played. :x

I just faced my mirrior image the other day. 4 shamans and a paladin. They looked like me... except for they had better individual control of their shamans. :P
I won the first match, but the 2nd time they smoked me. :(


Just today I finally faced the comp I was dreading since I started boxing shamans.. 4 AOE'ing gnome mages. Yes, that's right, 4 freaking GNOME mages. And a priest for good measure. I saw them coming, I insta gibbed one mage right off the bat, but there was no way I was healing and dps'ing through 3 hopping-arcane-explosioning mages. In hindsight I feel the next time i see a team like this i'll hang back on my Nuke and wait until all 4 are in range. That way the fire novas plus chain lighting will tear a HUGE amount of health off all their toons. But i still don't think it's enough...

i've been playing on my Pala to help a fellow multiboxer, and heres the setup we faced more than 5 times:

- Shadow Priest
- Shadow Priest
- Shadow Priest
- Shadow Priest
- Subtlety Rogue

and u cant even do nothing. coordinated fears, dot's, flays, death's.... silences... its a nightmare.
