Okay so after some advice from a few other posters i have decided to go with a WD 150GB velociraptor drive and a 750GB Samsung F1. It was suggested that i "symlink" the 2 drives for better warcraft play. At most i will be running only 3 characters at the same time. Can somebody please direct me to a thread or site with helpful information for this symlinking.
Thanks for all the help you guys have given so far.

If you have vista you can use symbolic link ('http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link')
If you have xp or 2000 (which i hope you don't) then you use NTFS junction point ('http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_junction_point')
There's tons of threads on this forum about symbolic linking, most of them are about issues with symbolic linking and the way that vista manages administrator rights. The easiest way to get it to work (without having to resort to command line tools and scripts) is to install a shell extension that will do it for you:
http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html
The above application allows you to create symbolic links in almost the same way as you would normally copy a folder (by using your right mouse button menu). All you need to do now is:
- Create normal copies of your wow directories
- Delete the data and patches subdirectories (in the copied directories)
- Delete the wow executable (in the copied directories)
- 'Copy-paste' the data subdirectories as symlinks (or junctions, depending on your OS)
- 'Copy-paste' the wow exe as a hard link
