I was thinking... Is anyone here in a guild that regularly does Bear mount runs? If so I was wondering if its possible to ask you a few questions about your specifc group make-up and raid DPS. Possibly some tips... Currently my guild is working diligently on it but keep gettign caught up on the third boss (dragon hawk) so we run out time. I am trying to out source and find other resources that could help with information to help progress our group/guild. If you are Sen'Jin maybe we could meet up in game. Let me know

Don't spend time looting, everyone needs to be moving as soon as the boss drops. Kill as few mobs as possible for trash. Use a paladin tank if possible. If you wipe, its basically over. Don't let those scouts get away, thats precious minutes if you are spending time killing more trash.

Be adamant about keeping a consistant 10 people going. My guild had issues with this because so many people wanted in on the runs for the loot, but with constantly switching people out we were also having issues getting bosses killed in time for chests. Got a solid 10, and within a couple weeks, 3-4 runs, we had the 4th chest down and our first bear mount.

At that point, you can start to sub people in, as of course, everyone's gear improves from going through Sunwell/BT.

Best of luck, I'm currently powering up on a new server, and hope to god I can find a guild that has 4th chest on farm to be able to get my bear mount before expansion.

My guild does them regularly - every wednesday and friday. We have a paladin alt tank it, and try to keep it to -mostly- mains. We have had a couple alts in there.

As far as loot goes - we need/greed boss drops and wait to grab the chests.

1. Don't let a warrior convince you he can MT it. Don't.
2. Bring a Pally and a Feral Druid Tank.
3. Bring 2 Healers (1 priest/druid and one pally/shaman)
4. Ranged DPS need to be IMBA and you need at least one AOE.
5. Everyone should be fully buffed with flasks and comsumables.
6. Don't bring a warrior tank.
7. Every one of your DPS will need to be able to sustain over 1200 DPS on each boss fight regardless. Some will, but some wont and thats the number you need.

My group has been doing it for months, I got mine a few weeks ago. We are in all BT gear, I have 4pc t6 on my shaman, I go as elemental. It is doable without too much hassle at this level, our best was 4 minutes to spare, which is pretty quick. We have even recovered from a wipe and gotten the bear. trick is, if you are going to wipe, just wipe it and dont drag that out. if you do, you will need serious business hussle to complete on time.

bear runs are a lto of fun, and offer some really nice gear for most classes. 3rd chest usually has something worthwhile, and nothing cooler than a bear mount =)

A raid full of them is just pure win.

My closest to getting a bearmount was 4,5 mins too late while 5-boxing shammys. I think there was a lot of things that we could improve, so its definitivly possible to multibox it.

My guild has been successfully been doing bear runs for a couple months. Our GM made a highlight video that shows the shortcuts that we take. You can find it at http://files.filefront.com/Bear+Run+v1m4v/;11236666;/fileinfo.html. I hope you find it helpful.

The most important thing to do when putting a bear run together is to find 10 people that can do the run consistently until you are successful. Any roster churn will increase the number of runs you need to do before you are successful. We generally run with three healers because we find that it allows us to recover from any mistakes that are made along the way. I suggest bringing a resto shaman as your third healer because they can still do reasonable damage on bosses where they aren't really doing much healing. Our ideal group is the following:

Party 1:
Prot Warrior
Prot Pally
Enhancement Shaman
Hunter
rogue/dps warrior

Party 2:
Resto Druid
CoH Priest
Warlock
Resto Shaman
mage/warlock

The prot warrior is generally the MA for the trash, and peels mobs off of the paladin during the trash clear. The prot pally puts on a FR set for the DH boss and we allow hatchers to hatch a complete side each time they are summoned. The video I linked should answer most of your questions. If you have any more, I'd be happy to answer them.

Just started new on a server with a friend of mine. Horde side hasn't even killed Illidan, while Alliance side has Forlorn Legacy.. number 30 in the US and has cleared Sunwell.

As far as I know, there isn't a bear mount on Horde side yet. With only a couple months until expansion, I am getting worried that I will ever have one. Curse me for switching to horde. ;)

ok, you can use a warrior, but I am biased and hate them :P

the reason I bring a prot pally and a feral druid, is that the pally can MT all the bosses that only require a single tank, and the druid can DPS.

I have gotten a bear with 4 shamans, its definitely possible. Stacking shamans and chaining heroisms is a good way to beat bosses =)

Warriors are for killing, not for tanking! (ok I have no sensible reason to hate warrior tanks.. so don't ask rofl)

It's very possible while boxing indeed :)

For group setup the way we usually do it is:

Group 1
--------
2 tanks - preferably 1 pala 1 warrior/druid. We've done 2xwarrior, 2xdruid before as well, but pala + warrior or druid is the easiest.
2 healers - 1 priest, 1 shaman (have done priest+pala, pala+shaman and priest +druid as well, all seem equally effective) I do prefer having a priest here simply for the CoH which is really effective with a multiboxer, because when 1 shammy takes damage they usually all do (like the fire breathe at 3rd boss etc)
1 'random' dps, had a mage, lock, hunter, rogue, anything fits here

Group 2
------
1 shadow priest (that feeds my shamans with mana)
4 ele shammies boxed

We've been doing this for over a month now, and the full group has bears. Started selling them now as well, 750g for each person in the raid every bearsale, easy cash :)

edit: with this setup we usually end up at 9 to 11 minutes left after the timed part. The gear of the healers and tanks (and shadowpriest) is mostly hyjal/bt, the random dps is often kara gearish as he is the random buyer most of the time. shammies are full full pvp gear (3s3, 2s4) with all the badge loot from the isle (chest, belt, legs, and boots from normal badges, also a lightning capacitor on each) they're all filled with haste bringing them (buffed/totems) to 1.2kish spelldmg, 39ish% crit and 230 haste

Having 4 bear mounts must increase the number of WTF?!'s you get.

That would be awesome to have, 4 bear mounts :D
