Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say hello as a new member to these fine boards. I used to 3 box EQ2 (zerker, dirge and defiler) (guard, temp, illusionist) (bruiser, dirge, defiler) and had a total ball. Awesome to pve but not to pvp, but then eq2 pvp is pretty shite anyways. Recently I had myself a month just playing one toon on WoW and cursed myself for not playing it a whole lot earlier! I'm getting it back again after I finish my summer works and I am definitely going to be 2 boxing and I think I will start out with 2 druids for learning curve.

This site rocks, loads of really useful information, screenies and vids are wicked, the whole macro thing is gobblegook to me at the moment - and a real eye-opener at that lol. Back on EQ2 I didn't even know what a macro was - and I only had one pc so I played all three accounts in windowed mode with all my hotbars at the bottom of screen, to the left and to the right on each individual character and then manually played all three of them.... 8|

Now I've watched some of you lot in action I can't believe I actually did that, ridiculous, but I guess involving!

Again I am really looking forward to starting WoW with 2 characters - one question I have is as far as PvE content goes am I likely to be unable to do any dungeon or group content with just 2 toons?

Cheers for now,

Krayce. :)

Welcome, Krayce.

As for dungeons, obviously you will be seeing much lower level dungeons or 2 boxing them with other folks.

welcome onboard :)

dual boxing two chars, you would be able to do quest even groupquest depending a bite there are some group quests that are hard to do with less then 5 char, but can allways skip those.

taking down 5 mans instanser with 2 char, now that seems like a unpleasent way to spend a afternoon
but if you configure one of them to be a healer and the other a tank, getting 3 other dps to fill your party should be easy enough
but then i migth have selected a pally for tank and priest or shammy for healer,

anyway check out the rest of the forum, its so much information and knowlegde here that it may take you weeks to "grind" trougth all on the info hehe

Ah, cheers mate. Yeah I thought as much. Seems from my reading of this site most people are doing the multibox thing, and not so many taking a 2box option. Perhaps there is a list like the one on the wiki for people just 2 boxing? I quite like the idea of going and doing this on a server where there are a lot of boxers, but I am rolled on Khadgar right now and no one seems to come from there.

Yeah Silver, I'm sure some of the stuff would be an awful grind, but with my eq2 boxing I really loved the challenge of min/maxing my toons to make seemingly impossible crap play out lol. Maybe it'll be the same in wow, or perhaps I'll just end up 3 boxin lol. I can see it happening - 5 looks very fun have to say.... those crazy shammies ;p

I was playing them on 2 computers with 2 screens, so it was really easy to figure it all out on my own and be successful. It's a very good idea to start off with just one or two guys just to learn the game, too. And having two at once is definitely going to make things easier for you!

The problem with 2 boxing as you get into WoW is that it's not quite powerful enough to really complete dungeons on your own unless they're 10+ levels under you, and in PVP 2v2 arena is kind of unbalanced and gives fewer points. And you're not really seen as very threatening to opponents or all that interesting. It's great fun, but I think a lot of people who are into the idea of playing 2 at once eventually want to move on to even more, especially when you realize how macros work and that it's not an impossible situation to handle controlling all those guys.

But it's still a lot more fun to have 2 than 1, and I think you'll have a good time!

BY THE WAY, take advantage of the referral bonus when you start playing, assuming it's still in place. Make one account, then refer your own e-mail address and your own name, use the code they mail you to make the second account. This not only allows you to get triple experience for 90 days, but you can even make another level 1 on your referral account and "gift" levels, 1 for every 2 you gained while you leveled with linked accounts.

cool thanks mate, I will certainly be looking into that, I read some about it here but I am guessing like most things I have read none of it will really become clear until I get the game in front of me.
