So im not really mulitboxing.. tired to find a good readme/tutorial. But its all greek to me.. So im just having my 64 pally follow my 70 hunter around for xp while i grind for rep/primals/and leather.

But i get about 10mins in, and i crash. both windows..

Same computer.

First i thought it was addons. so i disabled all addons. then i thought it was graphics. So updated to directx 10.. since i was getting an error that mentioned directx when i tried to open the second window.

Not sure whats going on.. any ideas?

Computer specs

amd 5000+ dual core
2gigs ram

Are you getting a BSOD?
Try maybe having 2 wow folders on your hard drive, and run your hunter from one and the paly fro the other. That's how i resolved my random Computer crash.
Some dll conflict i assumed.

ya forgot to mention that. I am running them from separate folders.

No blue screen of death. Just a "cant read" error from wow.. ill get more info from the error, next time it pops up.

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #134 (0x85100086) Fatal Condition
Program: C:\Games\World of Warcraft2\Wow.exe

Failed to read data.

I've not experienced this myself, thankfully, but have you tried the WoW support forums (*crosses self*):

Error #134[ (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=6762838402&sid=1)
Solution for one person (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=6762838402&sid=1) (although I see you've already tried disabling all your mods).

What puzzles me most about your reported problem is that you say both windows crash at the same time, even though you're running them from entirely separate folders? Are you positive that you're running them from different folders (i.e. you didn't accidentally use the same shortcut twice)?

Have you symlinked / junctioned the data folder, or do you have two full, entirely separate, installations?

Are they both trying to read the SAME address, or is the address different for each?

Do they really crash at exactly the same time?

Have you tried the repair tool? Don't let it reset your mods, etc, just do a file repair and see what it says. Run it on both installations of WoW.

If they're totally separate and the repair tool doesn't find any problems, it would suggest something that's mapped into the memory of both processes, and quite honestly I've no idea how to go about diagnosing that!

It could still be a hardware-related problem - if you're so inclined then you could download Memtest and run that to exercise your RAM for example - but the fact that it affects both processes simultaneously suggests that's less likely, although as I write that I doubt myself. A memtest is never a bad thing in any case.

If all else fails, it's worth a post on the WoW forums - the Blues are quite responsive to that sort of thing (remember to post the full error log from your Errors folder over there).

ya they are two seperate folders.

"C:\Games\World of Warcraft\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe"
"C:\Games\World of Warcraft2\Wow.exe"

a mem test wouldnt be a bad idea..

At first only one window would crash.. I updated every driver on my computer. Now i can go about 30mins worth of playing if i keep the pally minimized. But as soon as i start clicking between windows. Thats when the problems start.

So it's when WoW has to re-render the entire window that you have problems?

I know it's cliché, but are your video drivers up-to-date, and have you done the dreaded Windows Update recently?
