Normal 5 man instance and farming large shards

What is the easist normal 5m instance to farm? I need about 20 large prismatic shards for enchanting on my newly lv 70 5 box team

A lot depends on your group makeup, but with Priest/4x Hunters I find Auchenai Crypts to be a piece of cake. Only 2 boss iirc, so you only get 2 shards, so perhaps not the best option if you're well geared and can handle all the 70s.

I just ran Old Hillsbrad on my new group the other night to honored. I bet with 70's you can destroy that place and get 3 quick shards then be ported to the start and repeat. Steamvaults is fast too.

My vote would be for Steamvaults or Shattered Halls. OR run what you need rep or drops from, that is probably the best route.

It could very well be better from a time perspective to do dailies and buy, or to manufacture them depending on your tradeskills and material costs on your server.

This is why im rolling 5x druids. I just wanna stealth to the bosses, and farm for gear/shards. If the whole "summon" thing from RAF still works at 70 I can just summon in whoever needs a drop froma a particular boss :)

My suggestion is start running heroics. Once you get comfortable with heroics then all non heroics are trivial. I would think that botanica would be a good place to go as there are 5 shards. If you haven't farmed all of your totem of voids then farming mech would be an option for you.

5 Druids! FTW! Mine will be level 40 soon and look forward to being less squishy. That plate armor emulation is going to rock. And farming shards will be a snap!

steamvaults normal is a 20-25 minute clear for me
Botanica is a bit longer but also pretty painless.
Farming Totem of the Void if you need it will probably get you your 20 shards by the time you have all your totems :)

If you can do the last boss -- Ramparts only takes about 30 mins and should be 6 shards. (Chest from the last boss drops 3 blues in Normal? Heroic is 2 blues and 1 epic)...

edit. Oops I forgot you needed large shards, normal in ramparts will only give you small. In that case, Botanica is the easiest probably. But as someone mentioned already, I'd do cache runs in Mech for your totem of the voids first. (if you don't have them already). Plus the added benefit of doing Mech or Botanica is you can get your Sha'tar rep up so you can buy the head slot enchant at revered.

Heroic old hillsbrad, just kill the new bosslet (forget his name) with the dog pet. He's super easy and the blue version of the mariachi hat is shardable. Zero trash fights to get to him, he's just on the road patrolling around.

You can soft-reset him by exiting instance, switch to normal mode, back to heroic.

Come to think of it, first boss mana tombs is probably best bang for your time. A few trash pulls and you're on him, and a quick run in/out for resets.

There are other ways to make LPS through tradeskills, such as Tailoring or JC.
