Hello Multu Boxing fans. :)

So with this invite a friend offer, I figured now is the best time to have a go at multi boxing.

My plan is to run two WoW's on my Dell 1720 laptop, one a hunter and one a holy priest.

My hunter will be on the main account and my holy priest will be on the invited account.

If I understand correctly, I will be able to take both of these Level 1 characters to all the way to 60 together, with x3 experience. I will do the same quests, kill the same mobs.

My theory is I'll control my hunter as the main with macros to fire off DOTs and Heals with the Priest.

Does this sound reasonable? I will mostly quest. I figure the 3x bonus will make questing much less of a chore.

Once my Priest is 60 or 70 I intend to move her back to my main account. That may not make me a true hard core multi boxer but I figure it's a nice way to level up two classes at once and avoid the pain of solo priest levelling. :)

Thanks folks!

Yes it's reasonable! Of course, I'm biased. I find that the hunter/priest combo works well for my quests, dailies and farming. I don't see why it wouldn't be just as good for leveling. The main thing that helps me (now that I've switched to making my hunter the main) are my priest's healing macros. I used to have my priest as my main (my first character and very nice gear) but things are 100% easier with the hunter as the main. I highly recommend going that route, but it seems you've already come to that conclusion.

My priest focuses my hunter. Then she heals her focus's target's target. So if my hunter is shooting a mob, the mob is attacking the cat, the priest heals the cat. When the monster suddenly attacks my hunter, the next heal goes to my hunter. I have just 2 such macros for the priest. One is a cast sequence with POM, Renew and PW Shield. The other macro is a cast sequence for heal, flash heal, greater heal. No macro needed for her Prayer of Healing, or group buffs. You might want to add a dispel magic/abolish disease macro as well. If after combat is over, I want to heal my hunter a bit more, I just target myself. So I'm my own target's target.

I'll post my settup when I get home from work tonight, just to give you an idea of how my dual-boxing works.

That would be much appreciated. :) Sounds like I'm on the right track. I've already played a hunter and priest solo and it would be wonderful to combine the two classes. Thanks for your advice. :)

Please note, some of the more complex macros I got from other posts on this site. I've got to give credit to everyone else who makes dualboxing possible, thanks guys! It's good to note that the hunter's name is Junia and the priest's name is Vallencia. If you're copying a few of these macros, just swap out the names.

Hunter

Key 1 - Assist - Sets the hunter as the focus - can be changed to your party's Main Tank for an instance ;). I leave this as the full version of the macro so I only have to change the name if I'm doing something with someone other than my priest.

/target [target=junia, nodead, help, exists]
/focus target
/assist
/stopcasting
/target focus
/follow

Key 2 - Pet Attack

/petattack

Key 3 - Rotation - DPS cast sequence

/target focus
/assist
/castsequence reset=10 Steady Shot, Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot, Auto Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

Key 4 - Silence

#showtooltip Silencing Shot
/target focus
/assist
/cast [harm, nodead] Silencing Shot

Key 5 - Concussive

#showtooltip Concussive Shot
/target focus

/cast [harm, nodead] Concussive Shot

Key 6 - Melee

/target focus
/assist
/cast [harm, nodead] attack
/cast Raptor Strike
/castrandom Counterattack, Mongoose Bite
/castsequence reset=6 aspect of the monkey, deterrence
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

Keys 7 to = are not keybound and are for various click only abilities such as potions, bandages, pet heal (for soloing), ect
Traps, individual shots, pet heals, trinkets, aspects, ect Shift 1to Shift= and Ctrl 1 to Ctrl =. Since I'm running my hunter as my main, I usually just click these though.

As you can see, the abilities that I use while dualboxing and in combat are limited to the the 1 to = keys. All other abilities are for solo play only, for out of combat buffing, seldomly used or are hunter special shots and traps that I click on. Many fights, I will use 2 to send the pet in, 3 to start shooting, = to get POM on my pet to help it keep aggro, = x2 more to keep pet in good health, 3 x2 for next two shots. If I somehow goof up by shooting my special shots too fast, breaking my own trap, or by pulling 3 mobs at once (one trapped, one with pet) then I'll use my melee attack key 6.

The main thing is to not pull aggro off my pet if i can help it. My pet can easily tank 2 mobs at once if I keep POM, Renew and PW Shield on it. I just have to remember to occassionally switch which mob the pet is attacking to keep aggro. Don't hit the 3 button toooo often or you'll get aggro anyhow.

That's awesome!!! Thank you so much for that. I've a little to learn but I shall give it my best shot. :) I'm kinda excited about it all.. currently considering how I'll run my BE hunter from the BE start area to the undead start area to join my undead priest. :) The teleporter will help with that journey.

Am I right in thinking you don't apply any dots with your priest? Just heals etc?

PS: I really dig the name vallencia!!

My priest has gotten a little prissy since she's gotten all that healing badge gear. She can't get her nails dirty by doing any dps!

I only use her offensive spells if my hunter dies :D

P.S. Thanks! I try to think up fun names for my toons. I did it kinda backwards from you. My priest is the BE and my hunter's a Troll.
