Hey, ever since is started multiboxing on this machine (3 clients, 3 shaman, one computer) I have been having problems when using assist macros to acquire targets for my clones.

Heres the scenario: My F2 key is bound to an assist macro that is broadcast via keyclone to all of my other clients. The macro is as follows

/assist [target=focus, exists]

This is after I have set the focus of all of my clones to my main character (Roknis). But, for some reason every few minutes the macro will stop working, or something alone those lines because ill hit the macro and start to press "2", which is bound to Lightning bolt on all of the clients, and yet only my main character will cast the spell. The clones will just sit there looking stupid, and when i minimize the main screen to look at the clone's screen, I see that they are targeting the correct mob, but for some reason all of their lightning bolts have failed because of an "invalid target". How is a mob an invalid target? Anyway, after I open and minimize both clone windows, everything works fine for a few minutes until it happens again and its really starting to aggravate me T_T.

Update: this seems to happen 100% of the time as well if i alt-esc (alt-esc is DNP) out to look at something on firefox and return to the main wow client. Im not sure how this could be messing around with my targets though =/

I never /target or /assist. I just put them built into macros. I use:
/cast [target=focus-target] DPSSpell for DPS
/cast [target=focus-target-target] HealSpell for Healing

Maybe, your alts are targeting your main for some reason. Then they assist that target, but before they get that far, they try to cast LB on him, which fails. Then assist goes through, so they have the correct target, but LB has already tried on you. Maybe your main targeted an alt, so when they tried to assist, it failed. Then you selected a mob, and pushed F2 again. Not sure. Try to narrow it down. Debugging is a lot of what you will do with macros/keys. First just start with yourself, no mobs, no casting. Just target yourself and do nothing. See what the alts have targeted. Target a mob, but not attack and press a key and see what the alts have targeted. Just work out targeting then work on casting. Again, I put targeting in my macros, so I never have to worry about it. Good luck.

/cast [target=focus-target] Lightning bolt

Yeah. You can still play around and see what is causing your problems, or just try that way and see if it fixes things.

I've had great success with my alts using the

/assist mainsname

/cast spell

Though you lose the ability to change leaders, everything keeps working even while hexed in ZF. So far my team (prot warrior, fire magex2, shadow priest, holy pally) has completed two Mara full clears at lvl 47. Also using the /assist frees up the /focus allowing my mages/priest to keep CC targets. Do stay away from any party1 macros, that made my first kara trip with my shamans a very brief/costly event, lol.

also an:

/assist [target=main,nodead][target=toon2,nodead][target=toon3,nodead][target=toon4,nodead][target=toon5,nodead]

would work, if your main dies...

i just use:

/assist party1
/cast spell

this way is simple, and doesn't matter if your 5 boxing or 4 boxing with a friend tanking, still assists the right person.
it may not be as simple as changing focus when your main dies but u can promote someone else to leader when u die if u want to do it that way. but i figure if my tank dies i'm usually SOL anyway and start working on wipe recovery asap (ie: battle res the tank before the druid dies, or move the shaman to a safe location for ankh)
