So i was having trouble with my healing macros but i got some great advice and found this macro.

/cast [mod:shift, target=mouseover, help, nodead] Lesser Healing Wave; [target=mouseover, help, nodead] Healing Wave

What i want is to be able to have one icon bound to a key and have it do different things depending on what modifier i am pushing. For example i wanted the above macro bound to V and it would cast healing wave on V and lesser healing wave on shift+V.

What i found is that the above macro will not work bound to V but it will work bound to B or H or other keys. I also found that the above macro will work bound to V if the modifier is not shift... it can be alt or ctrl... but not shift.

So shift and V don't go together. Why is that?

I have unbound everything even looking in the direction or thinking about shift.

Help

/thanks

in case my troubles are not really understandable or solve-able on internetz... I will ask this here so as not to create a new post and the question is related.

My mod keys (alt, ctrl, and shift) are right now used by actually pressing those keys. Is there a way i can bind them to some extra buttons on a mouse? The placement of those buttons on the keyboard is a pain for fast and comfortable mods. If i could have them on my mouse it would solve everything. I want to use my shift so much cause it is the easiest and most comfortable key to press while getting at another key.

unbind shift-v in interfaces menu - it shows healthbars
