View Full Version : Mages more plausible in arenas / pvp after xpansion?

I took a quick look at the new talents, trying to decide if there was another team I would want to make utilizing the RAF system.

Improved water elemental: heals all party and raid members for 3% of their health every 5 seconds?

if that stacks, thats a good chunk of health when the elemental is activated. could this be the answer to the plagues that haunt mage boxers in arenas? its not a ton of HP, but it would provide some extra stability and HP while casting in the arenas, and improve survivability. with a druid or shaman healer, I think that 4 mages could be viable, at least 4 frost mages.

any ideas? think icy veins and heroism.. plus 4 elementals healing the whole party? assuming that HP goes up substantially again, we could be possibly looking at 15k health on a mage at lvl 80 with some pvp gear, thats 450 HP/5 x4 which makes 1800 healing to every PT member every 5 seconds, thats almost as good as a lvl 70 tranquility, and it would be staggered a little bit, so really its like free rejuvs.

anyway, something to think about.

If it stacks, it will be good...but even 15% every 5 secs isn't huge. Easily bursted through...

no, its not huge, but 15% is still pretty good for a pure DPS class. thats a free rejuv that lasts a minute while your healer takes care of the rest.

thats pretty OP if it stacks, while your shaman pops hero and you pop icy veins, thats a ridiculous amount of DPS while you have passive heals. imagine what 4 frost mages and pets can do to someone, and if you are able to micro your pets, you can keep pretty much everyone at distance.

not sure, im trying to justify having mages for the expansion, since the warlocks I made suck so much, or I just cant play them rofl.

I think the real problem that haunts multiboxers in arena is that only one class has grounding totems. Grounding totems are the holy grail of multiboxing class success at the moment.
