A long long time ago, I can still remember when the music used to make me smi... oh, hang on.

Let me start that again.

A long long time ago, somebody started a thread helpfully informing us all that multiboxing will be banned with WotLK.

It was dismissed as empty hate / jealousy , as these things always are, but there was a hint that it could be related to the way in which the client reads the keyboard, which would affect software solutions like Keyclone, Octopus and HotKeyNet.

The theory at the time was that it was anti-botting rather than anti-multi-boxing, but software multiplexers use injection techniques that would be defeated by this sort of change.

My question, then, for you folks who are kindly testing multiboxing in the Beta for us, is whether there was any truth in this at all (so far, at least).

Are any of you successfully software multiboxing WotLK Beta?

(and yes, I curse you to be humming American Pie in your head for the rest of the day!)

:D

just some more QQers.. this is yet another thread where Bliz says
keyclone is fine. Don't think they would say this and then ban it

If Blizzard were to "break" Keyclone, it would not be a deliberate attempt at sabotaging multiboxing. If they did not want us to use Keyclone, they could simply have Warden check for it on startup, and warn us that Keyclone is no longer supported.

If they happened to break it by accident, the way they often break UI mods, I would expect that Keyclone could be rewritten to work with WoW once again. I am thinking that anything that would break Keyclone permanently would probably make it so that your keyboard couldn't communicate with WoW either... and that might cause the playerbase some problems that are not related to multiboxing.

Sleep well, comforted by the fact that there are people out there who are so enraged about multiboxing, and about how powerless they are to do anything about it, that they resort to trying to scare multiboxers with stories like this. Come on, doesn't that make you feel pretty good? :)

So, is anyone here software boxing in Beta?

I saw a few people lucky enough to get multiple keys, but nothing indicating what setup they have.

I love the "Get out of my thread" posters.

They remind me why I started MBing - so I would'nt have to group with them anymore!

I love the "Get out of my thread" posters.Try as I might, I can't work out if that's a dig at me or something related to the linked forum post.
